So, I know I'm not the only one who has faced this situation - an extroverted Indian barber (Nai) who just won't stop talking while you're trying to get your hair cut.
I mean, seriously, why do they feel the need to strike up a conversation about everything under the sun? Can't they just focus on the task at hand and let us enjoy some peace and quiet? It's like they have a quota of words they need to fulfill before they can let you leave.
And don't even get me started on the awkward silences when you don't feel like talking. Suddenly, you're forced to make small talk about the weather or cricket scores just to avoid the uncomfortable silence.
I get it, they're trying to be friendly and build a rapport with their customers, but sometimes we just want to sit in silence and let them do their job. Plus, it's not like we're going to see them every day, so why do we need to know about their entire life story in the span of a 20-minute haircut?
So, if you're like me and hate dealing with chatty barbers, just remember to bring your headphones next time or give them a friendly reminder that you're not in the mood for a conversation. Because at the end of the day, we're all just trying to look good without having to endure an unwanted conversation.

I have DVT symptoms in my right leg, however, there is no swelling or dark skin around the painful area. My leg was been killing me for months now. At first, I thought it was just because I tend to sit on my leg sometimes when I sit down, but the pain wouldn't go away, even with daily leg exercises/stretches. The pain has recently come back, and it seems to be in the upper calf/knee section. It feels like being stabbed with a knife every time I walk, and it's extremely painful to bend my legs. Could it just be nothing, or is this something I need to get checked out? I'm fairly active, and at least walk every day, and lift weights, stretch, body weight exercises every week etc... No daily medication, I do drink alcohol.

For the android users out there. There is a part of Google assistant called 'open memory'. You say "hey Google, remember I left my keys in my jacket pocket" and it'll save it indefinitely. Then later when you lost your keys, just say "hey Google where's my keys" and it'll tell you or say "open memory" and it'll open up the list of things you asked it to remember. It works for anything just say "remember X or Y". Very handy I don't have to remember multiple thinks just the words "open memory". Just a little tip I thought might help some people.

I have two roommates but the one I'm frustrated with is Ruby (fake name).
My problem with her is that she spends an hour every other day doing her hair. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with this, it's not like she hogs the bathroom or anything, but she always ends up late for her lectures. The hair just reaches her shoulders, but she straightens it, adds volume, then showers, then straightens it again because the edges got wet and curled a bit.
Now, I may be biased since I don't do my hair often, just a good brush is enough for me, or I take out the rollers (that I slept with) which takes about 20 minutes. I've been taught to be fast.
Here's a daily occurrence:
Ruby has classes at 8:30 (she's studying to be a nurse). She knows it takes at least an hour to do her hair. Her alarm is set for 6:30. Does she get up at that time? No. What does she do? She wakes up and listened to music until I finally get her to get up (after countlessly telling her she will be late) and starts doing her hair. When does she leave? Around 8:45–9:00. And she has the nerve to be offended when people turn to look at her and one of her colleagues tells her to hold her tongue since "she is always late". Recently, she purposely skipped first period because the professor was yelling at the students (the reason was that a lot of people were late). It's a good thing our other roommate kicked her out or she would have been late for the second period too.
Another thing that annoys me is her hair care. Some background, she had caught Covid during the pandemic and lost, by her words, a lot of hair. I know that not all hairs are the same, but the way she treats it will definitely lead to it being lost again. Not only does she straighten it every other day, but she also washes it on the days in between, then uses a heat-resistant mask to prepare it for the following day's burning. I have told her that she should let it rest, but she assures me that the mask will keep away any harmful effects. Well, recently, she found a burnt part and freaked out. I casually said, "I told you so".

So 26M. I wasn’t seeing her for massively long. About 2 months. But we were sleeping together and honestly I liked her a lot.
There were plenty of red flags. At the beginning she said she wasn’t really sure what she wanted. She talked about doing coke on nights out. Said ‘all men are trash’ pretty frequently.
But it got nice. She’d come over a lot. We’d go out for drinks. Go for dinners. We’d talk every day. She got really drunk one time and came to mine to recover coz she said I was the first person that came to mind who’s take care of her.
I also have no one else in this city. I moved here 6 months ago and my one friend I live with just snakes me constantly. So she was a relief.
She didn’t reply for a day and I got the sense it was going wrong. It was after we both said we weren’t seeing other people. Then I got a message saying she doesn’t have time to commit and doesn’t want to waste my time. Said at the beginning she didn’t want serious (she said she wasn’t sure) and felt it had got serious.
Honestly. I know everyone goes through this. I have before. But I’m having such a shit time that it’s hit me really hard.
How do I kinda proceed from here?

not quite sure why that was the first of so many epiphanies I was to experience: at 15y old, I awakened one day and had the deep understanding that basically everything I've been told up to that point was a big fat lie 😂 or at the least, was a massive dump of half truths, folklore, ignorance and downright misinformation based solely on the ridiculous archaic philosophical reasoning of 'that's the way we've always done it'

I'm not saying that the education, social protocols, customs from the region where I grew up were intentionally malicious; doubt that .. it's as simple as the elders (parents, grandparents, teachers etc) all just 'did as they were told'
now, this actual form we call the human being ... the physical biological entity created with blood, bones, muscles ... which also contains the entire universe living beautifully within the cellular walls of the self ~ possesses far more talents and gifts than anyone has been lead to believe
and if anyone DID challenge why we genuinely encouraged jealousy and competition, and yet never encourage innovation .. why we hide the truth, lie about history, god, food and science .. or why we never properly educate our youth ~ if they challenged, they were executed 😔
I M H O: a large component of the genetic manipulations, which have occurred countless times over the millennia, were the limitations of certain functions of both the physical human structure and the spiritual, more emotional and intellectual energy ~ consciousness ~ itself: in other words, that the human is predestined to take the lower path, to be easily manipulated; that they lack the ability to fully grasp consciousness, even on the most basic level, and to effectively deconstruct any obvious attempts to render submissive their own universal gifts of telepathy, astral projection, time travel, telekinesis .. is undeniable proof we have been compromised and continue to be compromised
both by those not of this planet and especially, by other humans who have succumbed to the worst of all delusions ever .... the false promise of power by the ego
why? I have no idea .. makes zero sense to have a planet full of ignorant, emotionally unstable souls 😐

Now, in reference, I'm 28M, R.ChE but currently working as an intellectual property paralegal in a law firm for three years.
I just attended a profession-related seminar (for CPD points) and my feelings of alienation and not belonging was so strong the entire seminar. That gave me a flashback about my post about me being conflicted what I'm going to do with my career. I have a strong of being too old to do any drastic changes on my career. As I see my peers seems to have a forward motion, I still feel stucked. I had really hard time before when I just got my license to apply in any industrial field or engineering firms and I just accepted the job in this law firm to be able to sustain my daily needs during the pandemic. I know it's kinda dramatic but I don't see myself as an engineer anymore. I never had any experience on the field or industry so I don't think I will ever have any chance to even be considered in the field or industry. I've been holding to the belief of "since I'm already here, might as well go along" but for the past weeks, I realized it's not really sustainable.
Right after the third anniversary of my employment there, my mojo on my job went down. My motivation on my current job has been declining since then. I'm kinda guilty that I feel since I'm mostly WFH but I don't think being unmotivated on your job is good long term. I have a plan of filing my resignation probably the next half of this year but until now, I still don't know where to jump ship. I'm completely clueless what I really want still. I never really figured out what I want to do with my career or in life in general. I really those people who has a specific passion over something and was able to thrive on it.
I'm still trying to look other possibilities, but one thing is for sure for me: three years working on my current job is i think enough.
Also, I also need help on how you apply for the next job and what is the right timing with respect to the resignation date.
I just need to get this off my chest.

Hi friends, I’m looking to buy a used car! When I find one I like I’ve been looking up the yeamake/model on “Vehicle History” to see what common issues and recalls the model has. It seems like every single vehicle I’ve searched has some sort of issue and/or recall. Is this true? If so, should I let that stop me from buying the car if every car is going to have its issues?
