2023.06.09 21:54 CuckNorris2 Gpu caused slow boot times?
My specs: 7900× 7900xtx 32gb trident z ddr5 6000 Asus rog ×670 Okay so today I got my 7900xtx liquid devil, before that I had a 6800xt with a Corsair water block on it. My boot times were SLOW. I'm talking sometimes 10-15 minutes slow! I had memory training off (both settings cause there's 2 settings in my bios for it) and boot times didn't change. I've literally had this issue since the 7900x cpu came out. I just dealt with it cause I literally tried EVERYTHING, including removing the overclock on both my cpu, ram, and gpu. Still same problem. Now, my 6800xt ran great for gaming. No issues. Today my 7900xtx liquid devil came in, i installed it and booted up my pc and my boot times were fast (haven't timed it yet). I restarted and/or shut down and started my pc several times since then and it boots up really fast every time. My question is, does the gpu really affect boot times like that? I mean I know it has to communicate when you boot, hence the gpu, cpu, and dram leds that come on when booting. But I was just surprised how much it changed. Also I should note, my 6800xt didn't cause this problem UNTIL I got the 7900x cpu. I previously had the 5900x and it didn't boot slow. I just thought it was a memory training issue or the 7000 cpus with ddr5 just took forever to boot, or if it was my mobo. But apparently it was my gpu. Can anyone explain why this is?

2023.06.09 21:42 Incisor22 Samsung OLED G8 for €750?
I’m currently still sitting on my 6 year old Asus ROG SWIFT PG348Q monitor, it is slowly dying, so I thought I should buy a new monitor.
I already have an LG OLED TV that absolutely amazes me every time I use it .
So would you buy the Samsung G8 for 750€? Is it better than the Alienware?

2023.06.09 21:28 Eretein Asus ROG Strix SCAR 15 240w vs 280w adapter
I have a Asus ROG Strix SCAR 15 (2022), i7 12700H RTX 3060 (140W with Dynamic Boost) with a 240w power adapter. But I saw there's also a 280w for similar laptop like mine but with different GPU.
If I get a 280w adapter will my laptop consume more power and let both GPU and CPU work at higher power? Or will it still consume only 240w?
My logic here is that if I get a higher wattage adapter, I will have a bigger windows for Dynamic Boost. And both CPU and GPU will be able to work at higher wattage. Not meaning that GPU will work higher then 140w. Usually my GPU works below that at around ~115w.

2023.06.09 21:05 Prestigious-Owl-1273 What can I do to prepare swapping out my 7700X to a 7800X3D?
I recently purchased and received a 7800X3D and within the coming week or two I’ll be putting in into my PC and taking out the 7700X. What can I do to prepare?
What I mean is what is recommended to clean the thermal paste off my air cooler and the 7700X?
I have a ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F Gaming motherboard that is on Bios 1414 (‘cause of the newest bios still having issues crashing and whatnot) with ‘SAM’ enabled. Should I reset all settings or just turn off ‘SAM’ then reenable it after the swap?
Should I manually set the voltages still even on bios 1414 just to be safe? Can anyone guide me to or link a video or post to help with me that if necessary?
Appreciate the help!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I manually OC’d the 7700X through bios. Should I also revert those values back to original or will it automatically adjust itself when the 7800X3D is put in?
EDIT: I’m most likely making a damn fool of myself using the wrong words for stuff totally unrelated. I apologize. I currently don’t have access to my PC to verify exactly what I am saying so forgive me. Further elaboration down in the comment section below.

2023.06.09 20:51 zomzom335 One of the main reasons why ROG Ally will succeed over steamdeck and other handhelds.
Is availability. It is announced that it will be available even in third world ASEAN countries.
Steamdeck is only available for US, EU and a few other countries, while it is not available in any of ASEAN countries.
People compare price of steam deck to ROG Ally. It is not valid in any of ASEAN countries and majority of Asia. 512GB Steamdeck was even more than 1.5/2 times of ROG Ally Z1 Extreme price in ASEAN. Even now, 256GB Steam Deck is kinda same price with ROG Ally.
Plus there is no warranty support.
I think this is one of the main reason why ROG Ally will succeed over other handhelds.

2023.06.09 20:38 Last_Guidance_7680 Asus ROG Strix GTX 1080 Ti - No RGB control (Need help)
Hi guys.
So I've had this GPU for a while now, and the RGB control of the card has always been troublesome. However, it has worked fine for a long time, until recently, where both my Asus Aura program stopped working, and now the Corsair iCUE software also recently stopped being able to control the RGB of the card too. It all happened after a newer Windows 11 update, so yeah. I tried downloading Asus Armoury crate today, but my GPU isn't supported, so is there anything I can do to make my GPU have working RGB again?

2023.06.09 20:08 siia Gaming + programming dual boot PC
[RESOLVED]
What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games or programs you will be using.
- Competitive games (cs2, rocket league), MMO, occasional AAA game. Maybe VR but low priority for build.
- Will also dual boot ubuntu for programming (new to programming so idk which branch yet)
What is your maximum budget before rebates/shipping/taxes?
- €2500, willing to go a bit over the budget if a couple of € will make a big difference.
When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.
What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ToweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)
Which country (and state/province) will you be purchasing the parts in? If you're in US, do you have access to a Microcenter location?
If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? Brands and models are appreciated.
- Asus ROG Swift PG258Q monitor 240hz
Will you be overclocking? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line? CPU and/or GPU?
Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)
- I already got a Samsung 980 ssd NVME m.2 1TB. But willing to replace it if the replacement fits the build better. (Or use 2 ssd)
What type of network connectivity do you need? (Wired and/or WiFi) If WiFi is needed and you would like to find the fastest match for your wireless router, please list any specifics.
Do you have any specific case preferences (Size like ITX/microATX/mid-towefull-tower, styles, colors, window or not, LED lighting, etc), or a particular color theme preference for the components?
- I prefer clean basic looks. With as little RGB as possible
Copy windows included?
Extra info?
- I prefer more expensive but future proof over cheap. And I'd rather overpay for cooling etc than have to worry about it.

2023.06.09 20:03 PurpleSolitudes Best Gaming Routers Available on Amazon
| Gaming routers are designed to provide a better online gaming experience by reducing lag and improving latency. If you are a serious online gamer, then a gaming router can be a worthwhile investment. It can help to improve your gaming experience and reduce lag, which can give you a competitive edge. Benefits of Using a Gaming Router: - Reduced lag: Lag is the delay between when you press a button on your controller or keyboard and when the action is reflected on the screen. Gaming routers can help to reduce lag by optimizing your network and prioritizing gaming traffic.
- Improved latency: Latency is the time it takes for data to travel from your computer to the game server. Gaming routers can help to improve latency by using a variety of techniques, such as reducing the distance between your computer and the game server.
- Faster speeds: Gaming routers typically have faster processors and more memory than traditional routers, which allows them to handle more data at once. This can lead to faster download speeds and less lag during online gaming.
- Better range: Gaming routers often have more powerful antennas than traditional routers, which can extend the range of your Wi-Fi network. This can be helpful if you have a large home or if you live in an area with a lot of interference.
Advanced security features: Gaming routers often have more advanced security features than traditional routers. This can help to protect your network from hackers and other online threats.
