Yesterday, a few people asked me to post about my international move to Switzerland with my NF. NK's are 11, 9, 7. I'm going to try and make it as short as possible. I want to start be explaining that I had been with my NF for 5 years when they asked if I would be willing to move. I didn't have a reason to say no. The whole process of getting work permits and approval from Zurich Canton to live here took about 10 months. My MB job paid for all my moving expenses and fees for the immigration attorney. My NF covers ALL of my Swiss and USA expenses. I use my money for clothes, makeup, and travel when I'm off. We moved here January of 2022. MB's contract is over January 2024 but we may stay longer.
Requirements for my B permit: criminal background check, college degree, proof that I had been with my NF for at least 5 years, birth certificate, USA passport, USA driver's license, pay stubs for 3 months, Swiss employment contract, and proof that I was the only person who could do the job (basically proof that I wasn't taking a job away from a Swiss person). After 1 year in Switzerland, I need to have passed an A1 test in German to renew permit.
Housing here is at a premium. I live in an apartment attached to NF's house. This has been the hardest adjustment for me. We have much less space here than we did in the USA. There was a lot of downsizing of toys and clutter but honestly it was really good for the kids. There's so much to do outside here that no one has really complained. The Swiss are some of the fittest/healthiest people I have ever seen. They walk everywhere. I go to the grocery store daily since the food is so fresh (it goes bad quickly) and we have a fairly small kitchen. There is no buying in bulk here which I miss.
The kids go to an international school. I could write a book on how amazing their school is. I wish every kid in the world could get this kind of education. They are outside as much as possible in all weather. There was definitely a learning curve for me on making sure everyone had the right clothes for the different weather here. School is very much kid driven learning. 11 and 7 are thriving in their school. Both of them were showing signs of ADHD in the US but since coming here those symptoms have gone away. I think the combination of limited processed food and the amount of physical exercise they get at school has helped a lot. 9 has struggled more to adjust to living here. 9 has always been my orchid NK. 9 needs prime everything to thrive. 9 sees a therapist here though and has made great progress.
The public transportation here is top notch. I'm from a smaller suburb in PA with no public transportation so I'm still impressed by it. NYC nannies don't come for me. I know you live that life everyday and Im jealous. We travel as much as we can when the kids are on break from school. The school gives lots of time off, which is a blessing and also a curse. Keeping the kids occupied can be hard at times. More often than not we get out of Zurich when they're off school.
Overall, I feel like my life hasn't changed all that substantially. I'm learning German which has been the hardest part of moving here. Making friends can be difficult but between the kids school, my gym, and my German classes-I have been able to make some friends. Im happy to answer any questions you might have without completely putting my NF on blast. I wouldn't call them my unicorn family because we've definitely had some growing pains over the past year but I am extremely thankful for the opportunity they've given me. I'm also thankful that I have been able to find families that have kept me for so long. This is my second family that I've been with for more than 5 years.

Diffrent difficulty settings ranging from Exploration/arcade: possible cheats like infinite ammo and unlimited sprint Easy: 1 shot to the head is death buy you can take 10 to the chest or 2 per limb before death however at the halfway mark (so 5 for the chest and 1 to the limbs) mobility is SEVERLY limited.
Normal: half health, 5 to the chest 1 per limb AND if certain rounds hit they do more damage ( an anti tank rifle will one tap you no matter where it hits. Same for flamethrower and grenades.)
Hard: 1 shot per limb and 2 body
Order 227: 1 tap anywhere on the body and if you retreat more than one street from your advance you are shot by your own men behind you.
Procedurele generated environment. The streets are the exact same layout as the real city but houses and other buildings have interiors and bomb damage randomized. (So on one playthrough 123 panzer street will have no wall on the east but on play trough 2, 123 panzer street has walls on all sides and windows)
Attachments and weapons Ok here's the deal no holographic sights and no thermals. Nothing post feb 2 1943 as that is the end of the battle. No modernized variants of guns like a dp 27 having a pistol grip as that happend in 1944.
I'll add more later as this idea is still very early in design.

• Accessories for cars (idk how this would work considering you never rlly see the inside of cars unless the windows go down I just thought it would be cute)
• Being able to add multiple foods on plates
•Having the ice dispenser and freezer drawer work on the fridges
• A thermostat where you can adjust the temperature
• Working mobile phones
•Air freshness maybe even automatic ones and you can change the scents
• A sickness mood that way we can have medicine plus it’ll be good for rp
• A diffuser so you can change the scents
• Working fans not the ceiling fans but the personal ones
•Keypad for front doors (idrk know about this one I just thought it would look good for realistic houses)
•Pets I know ppl don’t rlly want them but I’d love if they had moods and you had to take care of them like you would irl
•Resizable walls and floors the floors would especially help if you have a house with stairs leading to it
•Having cars run out of gas and if it does you’ll have to get your car towed. This will be good for a tow company.
• RVs so ppl can have camping rod and the campsite could get used
•More pantry food options
•Being able to reheat food in the microwave once you take it out of your contents
•Having to go grocery shopping to buy food instead of just using the fridge and we can have a recipe book maybe even search for foods
•A weather forecast

Got the CM098C model delivered early December along with this battery/charger from Evike. I charged the battery and shot it a few times in my home (less than 20 times). Charged it again and went to play the next morning. Battery was dead, I assumed it was the cold weather. Charged it again and tried to test fire it, you could tell the battery was low based on how it sounded.
Friend tested the battery and the #1 cell was bad. Contacted Evike and they sent a replacement. Got the replacement early February, test fired and it seemed good again. Since we are in the middle of a big winter in the Tahoe area I haven't made it to Nevada to play much/at all so I haven't used the gun. Yesterday I got a bunch of new mags and wanted to try them out, the replacement battery is doing exactly what the first battery was doing at first. I contacted Evike and the dude said I was out of warranty but they would do an exemption and send me a replacement but they want me to test the battery first. I just ordered a volt meter to test it out.
Is this a known issue with that particular brand of batteries? I made sure to store the batteries after being fully charged, I'm just annoyed that I spent $70 for a battery that is not working properly/at all. Evike suggests the 11.1v but I also see a 7.4v battery can work, should I buy new 7.4v batteries elsewhere?
Could the charger be malfunctioning and killing the batteries?

The weather has been beautiful in an ugly way that only early spring can achieve. Nearly all the snow has melted, it is warmer than it's been in months, and the wildlife is awake and rejoicing. It is also browner than shit with trees bare and the sky cloudy; just because it is "warmer" doesn't mean it is warm. It would know exactly how warm it was because I spent half an hour tying CDs of string to the gazebo. I saw a pair of sterlings flying around uncomfortably close to where last year's sterlings' nest was. For all I know it was the same pair. As adorable as they were, our yard really isn't the best place for baby birds to be learning how to fly. I think Peach enjoyed her time out there although neither of us stayed out there long. Perhaps it's because I don't make a habit of going out when it is any lower than 20º Celcius but my ears and fingertips were stinging for hours after I came inside.
Anyway, I took a break from the dictionary to work on a short story for those weekly contests I mentioned yesterday. The theme for this week is "Sakura" which I, unfortunately, don't know much about. I am not Japanese but I'll do my best to incorporate the theme accordingly. The prompt I've chosen is "Write about a character who is starting to open up to life again." My short story will be titled "Scion in Bloom" about a young man learning to accept his Father's death while taking care of a cherry blossom scion from his late Father's garden. The story has to be between 1,000 - 3,000 words which may or may not be a challenge to me. I'll start writing the actual story tomorrow so we'll see then.

Heading from Calgary to Montreal next Sunday (April 2). On a Max 8. Yayyy.
Like an idiot, I checked the weather for April 2 today and saw Accuweather forecasting 70 km/hr wind gusts in Montreal. I know, I know. It’s over a week away and I’m being stupid. The forecast could change a lot by then. Could someone please talk me down off the anxiety ledge?

I am looking to hit the slopes Tuesday, and weather reports have a snow storm forecasted. What is the best mountain to go to in terms of total trails being open? It seems that during a storm it gets pretty windy and a lot of higher lifts are closed. Currently deciding between p”Palisades, Heavenly, and Kirkwood.
