During the Great Crusade, the Imperium encountered many human societies unlike anything in the modern Imperium. Yet in the earliest days of the Crusade, the Luna Wolves and Imperial Fists fought together against a foe that is all too familiar.

The Battle of Luhman
Fought barely a decade after the Emperor had left Sol, after his return to Cthonia of old, but before Horus had been formally granted command of his Legion, the Battle for Luhman has long been forgotten by all but the most dedicated historians. Here the forces of the VII^th and XVI^th Legions pitted their strength against a clade of lost humanity that had turned to the blackest arts of genetic sorcery to survive Old Night, an offshoot of Mankind so changed that they no longer resembled anything remotely human. No extant record holds an image of the inhabitants of Luhman, though the few remaining battle reports speak of huge empty eyes that could see even in lightless caverns, pitch-black hide that blades could not pierce and claws that could rend ceramite. So fierce were they that the recorded casualties for the fighting to cleanse Luhman are far more numerous than those of the battle itself.
Most notable of those casualty records is that of the XVI^th Legion Praetor Maral Lupus, the warrior who had led the attacks on Luna that earned the Legion the sobriquet 'the Luna Wolves'. Known as the White Wolf among his own brethren, he had led the final attack on Luhman and, alongside a warrior of the VII^th Legion, had slain the enormous progenitor of Luhman's twisted spawn at the cost of his own life. The Imperial Fists warrior was a young Imran Adarus, a simple lieutenant who had followed the Luna Wolves veteran into the heart of battle, and carried forth his body in the aftermath. The dying veteran bequeathed Adarus his blade of shimmering moonsilver in return for an iron-bound oath, a promise between warriors that held more power than any written pledge. Adarus swore to always stand for the honour of both his own Legion and that of the XVI^th, that when they needed him he would always come to offer his sword and his life for theirs.

Mutants with ceramite rending claws spawned from an enormous progenitor? I think we all know what these were.
It appears Genestealers were already in the Milky Way before the Great Crusade even started, and well before Dantioch overloaded the Pharos Beacon. This revelation fits with other hints that the Tyranids have been visiting the Milky Way for far longer than we knew about in one form or another.

I love when the stars align and you get to play a sweet 3 card combo when the locations or opponent’s plays don’t fuck it all up haha.

Hello, I'm planning a lovely beach trip with some friends in July for my birthday. I've been looking for beaches in the North online and Formby beach came up and is the one I'm leaning towards.
I've been doing some research and the only problem seems to be this no alcohol rule that is apparently in place? I've read that police patrol the area and will confiscate any alcohol on your person and fine you, this is to prevent littering.
My friends and I are planning on drinking, however we will most definitely be bringing black bin bags and packing up our rubbish (and I imagine other people's rubbish within our vicinity), so we won't just be dumping empty bottles everywhere. Whenever we go to the park and have a picnic, we're always careful to pick up our rubbish after and leave the place as we met it.
I just wanted to know if anyone's had any experiences or run ins with this? Have you seen people drinking on Formby beach with no problems or run ins with the police? Or is this one of those rules that they say but is never actually enforced?
I'm kind of an anxious person and I'm not much of a rule breaker, especially if there are going to be consequences, so I want to choose carefully. But I also know that a lot of 'rules' in place are just there mostly to put people off but are rarely enforced. For example, my friends and I had a bbq in Heaton Park a while ago despite the no bbq rule and we didn't encounter any issues. In fact, a couple in the same area were having a bbq and one of the park workers told them what they were cooking smelled nice and said nothing else about the bbq. This was after I'd worried myself sick thinking we'd be confronted by police or park officers, or someone would report us. (We made sure to clean up after ourselves!)
So I just want to know if this is something I should actually be concerned about and if I need to reconsider going elsewhere for my beach trip? Also if people have seen police walking about Formby beach like they claim to do?
If this is the case and I should probably reconsider, anyone know any beaches in the North of England that tend to be sunny, and also allow alcohol on the beach or at least, tend to have people drinking casually?

As always, a rundown of the emergency services in Lithia:

Lithia has around 400,000 counter-narcotics police officers with 100,000 support staff. They are also very heavily armed with submachine guns and carry up to 12 magazines of ammunition. Their vehicles are mainly SUVs and a large number of surveillance drones.

We’re visiting my mom in Chicagoland and my 2.5 son left my line of sight for a bit so I called out, “2.5, where are you? Where’d you go?” He was in the other room.

I found myself writing about the score on other posts, so I decided I should just make a thread for fellow lovers (and the haters) of Daniel Pemberton’s score for ATSV. I’m just gonna talk about my personal favorite moments from the score and you can too in the comments. I don’t have a great vocabulary so you’re gonna hear words like great, amazing, and awesome a lot. It’s also gonna be long, so buckle up. SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT:
The logo music immediately told me that this movie was going to be epic, dramatic, and emotional. The chord progression he chose to open with is so cinematic. The drum kit opening was the perfect choice and I love that they used how Gwen is a percussionist and integrated the same percussion at the end of the film. The new theme for Gwen is perfect. It isn’t some cheesy strings ballad or epic brass theme. It’s what she needs. A simple motif with an amazing rock chord progression to back it up. The main motif can go with other character themes and can be found a couple times throughout the score. The vulture fight was the perfect mix of character themes. The man had a opera singer to represent vulture and that was inspired. I love when composers find a certain thing to represent a character. Then, Spider-Man 2099’s haunting synth that pierces through the music. I saw another Reddit user post that it sounds like something from Spider-Man Unlimited which I think Pemberton did on purpose. After the fight, when Gwen is confronted by her father, you can hear Gwen’s motif again. The ambiance is perfect and emotional, and then the pitch bend when he tells her she has the right to remain silent was beautiful. Then, the orchestra kicks in as she contemplates leaving, and then it swells to a finish as she enters the portal. (The track is called “The Right to Remain Silent” and is amazing) The “Across the Titles” track is a revamp of the opening music from Into the Spider-Verse with the disc scratches and all. I’m gonna skip a little now as I’ve only seen the film once and there were a couple tracks that blew me away on first watch, so I’m gonna have to make a separate thread later when I watch the film again to update you on anything I liked on the second watch. The Mumbattan music is a great take on futuristic ethnic and cultural sounds. It also represents the playfulness and youthfulness of Pavitr Prabhakar. Then, when he saves the police captain (disrupting the canon event) and the hole grows bigger, the Spot theme sounding super creepy and disturbed was perfect. The Nueva York music was also a great re-orchestration of his Spider-Man theme that literally sounds like the orchestra is triumphantly saying “SPIDER-MAN” I loved the Canon Event music when Miguel O’Hara explains how they work, and the synth in the back sounds like a cry out. Definitely chilling. That swell when Miles makes his escape off the train and outsmarts Miguel was so awesome and had the perfect blend of synth and orchestra. It was a very inspirational take on his Miles theme. Skipping to the end, I was overjoyed to hear the Prowler sound make its return. Very cool. And then the drumming from the beginning comes back as Gwen re-unites the gang as the movie comes to a close. His score definitely enhanced the film for me unlike most scores I’ve heard. (Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar and Dune was good at this as well)
Anyway that’s my rant and recap of Daniel Pemberton’s score from ATSV. Sorry for making it so long and please discuss your favorite or least favorite parts of the score in the comments.

Hi. I (F) have been with my boyfriend for a while now and our relationship has been so great up to this point.
Bf and I will be graduating together tomorrow. (For context he broke his old phone and had been using my old one that isn’t turned on and half of the screen is covered In black so he can barley see messages. As well as The instagram account I talk about In here isn’t his main account it was his backup.)
So today we went to go hang out and afterwards he tried calling his friend to come get him to go back to their house but because his screen was so messed up he couldn’t call him, so I offered he’d put his Instagram in my phone so he could call him sense he doesn’t have his friends number memorized. (I’d also like to state I told him he could remove the account right afterwards if he wanted to.)
So instead I bought him an Uber sense his friend wasn’t answering. After he was picked up and we went our separate ways. I got home and decided after a while to go into my Instagram saved pictures and videos to watch the memes I’ve saved. Upon clicking on my saved a whole different feed than mine showed up. I scrolled through the saved and realized it was all beautiful females in revealing clothing. The more I kept scrolling the more I saw. This was his saved pictures and videos.
In anger I called him and asked why were all these females in his saved. I don’t remember his response because I got so angry I told him to get off my phone and hung up on him. I know it was wrong of me but I had to look through his messages. I wanted to know if he was cheating on me so I began looking. He had sent multiple random female accounts from his main one to his backup account as well as one of his friends sent him a lot of random female accounts. When you clicked on these accounts there would be the saved pictures of the girls in his saved.
Anytime he ever thought I was even just looking in another males way he got upset. From the moment we started dating he’s been the only man I’ve ever found beautiful. He told me I was the most beautiful girl to him and he doesn’t see other females like that but to think he lied to me about that. Breaks my heart.
We’ve never had any serious relationship issues until this. But I don’t know what to do. I’m hurt. I don’t want to see him at graduation tomorrow but I don’t just want the outcome of this situation in the air when we graduate tomorrow. I worked hard to graduate and don’t want this ruining my celebration. What should I say to him? What do I do?

Wait, what's going on?!

On May 31st, 2023, Reddit announced a change in its API pricing that would completely break the moderation functionality for many subs, as well as (and most importantly) completely stopping any and all third-party Reddit applications from working.
Many of our users, and even our mods (myself included), use third-party Reddit applications when on Mobile, and many others use external systems for moderation when the in-house features don't work properly. As such, these price changes and so forth make moderation nearly impossible for any of us, and make using the platform impossible for others.

Why the blackout?

Many subreddits, including many front-page top ones, are blacking out in protest of these changes. Despite the cries of moderators, users, and developers alike, the Reddit admins have been silent and lacking any transparency with many changes since before the announcement, let alone after, and it has caused many subreddits and users alike to be sent sprawling and scrambling to keep up with changes. This is not sustainable for any community, much less for one as large as Reddit.
The ongoing inconsistencies, lack of transparency, and non-communication between the Reddit admins and subreddit moderators have also resulted in many trust issues between us as mods, and we simply cannot continue to function without forewarning about changes like these -- nor can we continue if the community itself has no say.

What are we looking for?

To quote ModCoord;

We understand that Reddit, like any company, must balance its financial obligations. However, we believe that the longevity and success of this platform rest on preserving the rich ecosystem that has developed around it. We urge Reddit's management to reconsider the recent API pricing change, finding a compromise that allows third-party app developers to continue contributing to this platform's success.
We ask for a solution that recognizes the vital role these third-party apps play and takes into consideration the negative impacts this decision might have on both users and moderators. A sustainable pricing model that encourages rather than discourages these apps' growth and innovation will only strengthen the Reddit community.

We, specifically, also ask that Reddit acknowledge its userbase's feedback and complaints, rather than delegating it to the screaming of those who don't know computer science. As a social media company, there's an obligation to listen to those who you're providing a service to, if you wish for the service to continue. With so much history that the website has as a whole, it would be a shame if we saw it fall to the wayside because the users that power it no longer felt like they were wanted or needed. We don't want to create another Digg incident.

How long will this last?

This subreddit, along with many others both owned by yours truly and not owned by yours truly, will be blacking out indefinitely until such time as Reddit makes a compromise that outweigh the cons, or backtracks entirely on these changes. If it doesn't happen, the subreddits stay down.
Other subreddits intend on being back online on the 14th at most, some extending a little further to the 16th.

The bus drives were long and it stunk like piss and body odor, also known as 'B.O.' according to my friends. Whenever I looked up I could feel how big my eyebags were and how my eyebrows felt. Kids fought in the seat on my right, laughing and sighing. I imagined myself on the street as the bus went by, laying on the pavement in a fetal position, sobbing my sorrows away - feeling them fade. It was raining, although it was the beginning of summer. The air smelt nice except when it came to the children around me. There were different colors of trees. Some faded into a dark purple, green, or light green. The railroad tracks were rusted and brown, the wood soaked and rotting. Oh, the love for rain, I thought to myself. I spaced out often, staring at the black lines attatched to power poles, or whatever the people called it. I mouthed the lyrics to songs my earbuds sung and I crossed my legs, feeling my baggy pants touching the hard wall under the window. My feet began to drag as I walked down my driveway, the songs louder now somehow whenever I spaced out - like they were out to get me to pay attention to the road in front of me. Car. Nearly ran over. Stranger. Kiddnaping or rape - as my parents say. Lighting, struck but getting struck by lighting is rare, isn't it? It stunk as soon as I entered my bedroom, dropping my heavy bag to the carpet, my tote bag hung on my doorknob before shutting the door. Stinky and messy, but it was my sanctuary, my bliss, my 'dirty, pigsty,' as parents titled it, (and often, too.) I laid my body on the messy bed, left as messy as it was that morning. A cat meowed and scratched at the door, the sound fading out as I fall asleep. And as I fall asleep, I'm cold, watching the static my shut eyes show, sighing softly before returning to silent bliss that we call dreaming.
