St alphonsus physical therapy

As I'm about to turn 30, I've been reflecting on the past few years of balancing work and grad studies. In doing so, I realized that my physical appearance has not always taken precedence, although I have not entirely neglected it either.
Over the last two years though, I've been incorporating a lot of good self-care habits (many of which are mentioned below), and I'm proud of the progress I've made.
That said, I want to start investing more time and effort into my appearance because I've noticed how much it boosts my confidence and makes me feel put-together!
I'm a huge fan of aesthetics in all aspects of life, whether it's art, home decor, or personal style, so putting effort into my appearance feels like a natural extension of that passion. :)
Anyway, I decided to use ChatGPT to create a comprehensive glow-up plan and thought I'd share it for inspiration. I absolutely love seeing what others do and learning from their experiences, so if you have any recommendations or plans of your own, please feel free to share them!

Recently I had an injury (disc hernia L5S1) from boxing with a terrible back where I completely collapsed in the ring. For the next 6 days, I was basically "glued" to my bed and any slight movements would trigger a spasm. Today marks the 11th day since the incident and I am able to "function" normally. Besides acupuncture treatments and other physical therapies which I'm undergoing, I really want to try the carnivore diet.
I heard that it can help with inflammation and healing, and also give me more energy and focus. I'm willing to give it a shot for a month and see how I feel. I'm not sure how to start though. Do I just eat meat and nothing else? How many variations of the carnivore diet are there? What kind of meat should I choose? How do I deal with cravings and social situations? I have so many questions and doubts, but I'm also curious and hopeful. Maybe this will be the best thing that ever happened to me.

I dumped my therapist this week because for the last month or 2 all my sessions were just us BSing about how happy I am. I never thought this was possible. I thought I was permanently broken. I believed that I’d never be happy or feel anything close to normal. I’m happy now. I started my own family and I’m breaking the cycle of abuse.
As great as this is I don’t think I can stay on this sub. Despite my overall happiness some posts here do cause me some distress, but before I leave I wanted to share how I got here in the hopes it will help someone.
To sum up my childhood as briefly as possible my father was the narcissist. He was a bigot. He was physically, verbally, and emotionally abusive. He never expressed love or affection. I spent most of my life while he was alive believing he hated me. I spent most of my childhood thinking he would try to kill me one day. Around the age of 11 I started sleeping with a knife under my pillow. In case he came to kill me in my sleep I’d have a fighting chance. Growing up was lonely and I always had my head on a swivel when I was home because I constantly had to navigate his mood swings to try and survive.
My mother came off as the hood one by comparison. It wasn’t until I read Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents that I learned she was passively abusive. She was my fathers enabler while making me responsible to fulfill her emotion needs while mine were ignored. She taught us how to act in public to hide the abuse we were suffering at home. I told school staff in elementary school and a cop once of my abuse. Despite my state having mandatory reporting laws in place at the time nobody ever checked on my well-being.
Growing up like this left me with heightened survival skills. I grew to hate that because I very much wanted to unalive myself, but due to still being in constant survival mode I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I didn’t like or trust most people. I always had a small circle of very close friends. They became my family. Despite that for some reason I never told them what I went through. I normalized my abuse to the point that I didn’t believe that parents truly loved their kids. I got in a lot of fights as a kid and adult. Luckily I was smart about my self destructive behavior because I don’t have a record. I was really wild throughout my 20’s and early 30’s. I’m seriously shocked that I don’t have a record. Fact is I didn’t think I’d live to 18 so I had existential crises at around 20 and 35 years old. Like wtf was I supposed to do because I hadn’t planned on existing still? I spent most of my adult life as a man whore. Learned it was how I dealt with being stressed or lonely and because of how I grew up I felt lonely and isolated a lot.
How I got better: I’m almost 40 so it was anything but quick. I spent way too long acting self destructive. I was diagnosed with PTSD. I moved 2500 miles away. I got married in my 30’s. We ended up in couples therapy for a bit. Once we got through that I stayed with that therapist to deal with my childhood because my wife had become pregnant. I also read several books that helped. (I’ll post those at the end) I was determined to fix myself for my kid. Thankfully my father died before my kid was born. Part of me thinks that I wouldn’t have been ready to be a parent as long as he was alive. I went no contact with my entire family and removed toxic people from my life. I still talk to 1 aunt but that’s because she is the only emotionally mature person on either side of my family. She’s supportive and I regret waiting till my 30’s to let her into my life. After working my therapist and those books I feel like the last piece was removing the toxic people from my life.
My advice: Narcissism is just one type of emotionally immature adult. We were forced to ignore our own emotional needs and cater to our parents’ emotional needs, which is the opposite of how it’s supposed to work. We were never taught how to emotionally respond properly because our parents were so broken. We had to learn by trial and error and depending on how abusive your situation was the errors could be costly. We did all this to survive.
STOP caring about your family’s feelings, needs, and wants. Did they care about yours when you needed them to most? Did they have your back, or did they leave you in those abusive homes to suffer? YOU DON’T OWE THEM ANYTHING. They are NOT entitled to your time, life, etc. Go no contact. They’ll try to guilt you but don’t fall for it. It’s all BS. They caused your trauma and having your abuser in your life is not helpful in overcoming your trauma. You’ve all been through so much. It’s not selfish after years of abuse to make your mental health and well-being your top priority. You matter and your feelings matter. Your childhoods were taken from you by selfish monsters and you deserve to recover from that and be ok. Also, know that it is possible to be ok.
LEAVE!!! I moved 2500 miles away and refuse to even go back to visit my friends from back in the day. I don’t need the feelings or memories that live there. I didn’t have much when I left. I had a car and I cashed in my 401k from a part time job I had for 2 years. I was homeless on and off for spurts. It was all worth it. You are strong. You can fight and survive.

I'm seeking a long term girlfriend. In a more.. fantasy (?) mindset, think of us as the Queen that rules her kingdom and the giant feline creature that sits in her lap or by her throne, waiting to act for the safety of his beloved. Although I am sexually open minded and into [term that cannot be used in this subreddit because of rules], one thing I'd like to announce is that I do not plan to have children. In fact, the moment I settle with someone, I'm likely to get a vasectomy as well. Furbabies, in fact cats if possible, are literally all I'd ask for.
Gaming is not the only thing on my mind nor is just sex. I take care of myself physically, I do skincare and go to a beautician twice a month, I do hit the gym as well and I prefer walking to work rather than using public transport. I also have one issue that is similar to aspergers but it's not specifically autism, just similar effects. I'll happily share once we get to know each other.

So I (22enby) am currently in a 4.5 year relationship with my partner (22M). He has been depressed for a while but I was thankfully able to convince him to go to therapy and start taking care of himself just this past year. Over the past 4.5 years I've been in recovery from an Eating Disorder and I'm finally started to see the end of the tunnel, but on the flip side, as I've slowly stopped numbing myself, I realized I might be a lesbian, and that I view him more like a best friend then I do a romantic partner. He has helped me out so much in my life, mentally and physically, but I catch myself thinking all the time that "I wish we were just best friends and not romantic partners" and I hate that I don't feel anything romantic for him anymore. But he seems completely devoted to me. He's so loving and kind and is always pushing for more call time and just time spent together overall. (We are long distance currently because I'm in uni, just in case this info is relevant). Additionally though he has been struggling for the past couple months with his mental health, he even informed me that his suicidal thoughts have come back. I don't want to be in this relationship anymore but I don't want to risk him harming himself if I leave. With all that he's helped me through, don't I owe him to stay until he is mentally well enough? He has even broken down when I told him I has a job placement and would not be going back home, saying how much he needs me physically with him. I still love him so much (just not in a romantic way) and I know my leaving, would be a really hard hit and really betray him.
My current plan is to wait to do it possibly june or July. I would be out of school and he would be back home with his mother, sister, and brother. I inform his mother before I arrive of what will happen and to be prepared. When I arrive I sit him down privately and tell him how I realized I'm a lesbian, and that we can't continue in our relationship without resentment growing on either party. I'll tell him I still love him so much and I want to be here for him as a friend, although I will respect any time and space you and your family need from me. I'll tell him he is one of the most amazing people I know and if I could choose, I'd want to be with him and stay with him.
I don't know if this is a good plan at all. I want to tell his mother first by a day so I can say my goodbyes to her and allow her to prepare to support my partner when I leave. Secondly I want to frame my leaving as something that has absolutely nothing to do with his value as a person or who he is and that he is a very worthwhile and lovable person.
I also am planning on traveling to do it in person because I believe he deserves that respect.
I just don't know if this is a good plan or if it will prevent any severe mental health impacts.

My partner and I, after four years together, have mutually decided that we might not be right for each other. We argue 1-3 times per month, usually not lasting more than a day, and we’ve had a hard time knowing what is “normal” since this is the longest either of us have been in a relationship. The physical attraction has also hugely shifted in the past year despite a lack of change to physical appearance. I still think my partner is undeniably beautiful but the sex has stopped as neither of us are really in the mood lately. It’s been tough because she thinks that our arguments are too bad, which is totally possible but also might just be because we handle issues differently. I need time to process and may shut down; she wants to discuss and resolve immediately. I’ve been going to therapy to try to be more connected to my emotions, but it may be too little too late (I know I still have much more work to do). Anyway I’m incredibly proud of how well we have communicated lately, being both honest and vulnerable, but it’s a weird feeling to know that we’re going to make this huge decision in the next couple of weeks. I’m new to Reddit in general, please excuse anything that doesn’t make sense. Feel free to critique.
My fiancé 31f and I 37m have been together for nearly 7 years. We are currently going through a pretty rough patch. A lot of the issues are her boundaries, wants, and needs aren’t being met.
Before I go into the meat and potatoes I want to add some prefaces. Both of us have never been officially diagnosed but have reasons to believe we could be on the autism spectrum. I apologize if my assumption here is way off base.
I’m not gonna go into all the symptoms we have observed just the ones that are relevant. When I attempt to lighten the mood with something I feel is obviously humorous she will sometimes get upset or even angry. It turns out she always takes that as offensive or self-deprecating.
I have always struggled with not being able to get hints, clues, and other things that most would consider pretty obvious. Essentially, unless I’m told something in a direct manner I miss completely or am left confused altogether. I feel I have definitely had a lot of progress in being able to communicate and receive boundaries in this and past relationships. I never want to be in a position where she is uncomfortable or especially doesn't consent to anything in general.
Throughout our relationship since about nearly a year into the pandemic, her response when I ask for consent or what she wants has struggled with communicating with an effective response. For example, when I ask her to be intimate she grumbles, makes an annoyed grunt, or just moves away. From my perspective, she's telling me a few different, or a combination of things. She won't say no and i don't know what she wants. At times I get frustrated with just not knowing if she is either in the mood, wants to cuddle, or doesn't want to at all. Either one of those responses is valid and I would be happy to respect it.
Especially when she scoots away or grunts aggressively I interpret her actions are a result of being upset that I would ever ask. When I ask her what she wants exactly she never responds and just stays silent. In response, I usually just get offended and turn over to her all in my feels before going to sleep.
Recently we have discussed the miscommunication we've had. From her perspective when I turn over I'm upset cause she isn't in the mood and that's all I want. Additionally, she claims that her aggressive responses are a result of her insecurities about how I may respond. While I don't believe I have done anything to merit that assumption she says it's a result of past experiences and traumas. Both our perspectives were only brought to light recently
Miscommunications like this and pretty important discussions have resulted in similar responses. I've already typed a bit so I'll try to get to the point.
She has also said she can't even discuss boundaries because she doesn't feel like she hasn't earned the right, and is being selfish in addition to being concerned about how I may respond.
Without going through all the details and long story short we have been silently suffering for years. If that wasn't enough she also suffers from major depression, severe anxiety, and cptsd.
This brings us to the boiling point with what I've mentioned as well as other serious problems that I won't in the detail. She has decided that she needs to be apart so I can work on myself and for her to get her thoughts straight. So I started therapy, got my medications for my mental health in order, and have been taking them regularly ever since. I have made some serious progress and have made plans to support her passionate wants.
She also needs therapy and hasn't had much success in finding a good fit in the past and already has a difficult time making the effort. She mostly has her mental health medications in order and needs improvement for sure. We have been taking couples therapy and they have said they word be happy to take her on, but she still hasn't pulled the trigger just yet.
After a month of making massive improvements and progress as a couple discussing all the miscommunication and such she has escalated even more. Like a flip of a switch, she cut off communication with the exception of texting some of the time. Without notice, she impulsively took our kids and moved an hour away.
After a week, here is what I have been to get from her since cutting off verbal communication. We are still together. She says she wants to do what's best for her, the kids, and us. She needs to be able to make her own decisions. Finally, she still hasn't and isn't ready to discuss grievances and have a discussion about it in general besides what I've been able to piece together.
I have been left feeling blindsided, left in the dark, disregarded, abandoned, made to feel like a fool, not eating properly, getting physically sick, assumptions filled with insecurity, and feeling completely helpless.
Today she missed her first couples session and later said she doesn't know how she can work on us if she hasn't started working on her. That's completely valid, and I think we have discussed a possible solution.
In spite of having difficulty setting boundaries, she sent me a TikTok that explains just how she feels when it comes to setting them. Imo that's a major step and it's a little bit of hope that she hasn't fully given up on me.
I'm struggling to find a way to be able to convince her that I am more than happy to give her the space she needs and do whatever I need to do to support her completely. No matter what we need to do it's worth it.
We both have our own challenges mentioned above but I can't fathom how to begin to overcome these obstacles. More than anything liked to successfully communicate that I am committed to whatever needs to be done and I am more than happy to discuss all her boundaries in a validating way. So, as the title says, I’m an experienced Destiny/Destiny 2 player (I was an alpha tester on Destiny, and played around 2100 hours before Destiny 2 came out).
I was partially paralysed in 2018 (autoimmune disorder and car crash (I was a passenger in stationary car that was hit by someone texting while driving) and couldn’t play video games at all really for almost two years. Eva use of this, I didn’t play much Destiny 2 at the start. Ive since done a LOT of physical therapy, and I can play like regular now, on my good days (mix of adapting and having controllers that are adaptive, etc.)
My wife and I have always played Destiny together. It’s kind of our thing to unwind. I’m completely housebound from my illness (I’ve only been outside once since 2019) and gaming is a great escape for me, and my OH likes to take part in that (she has always been a gamer anyway, tbf) Our eldest son (almost 9) likes to join us sometimes. He’s pretty proficient. He is well behaved and if we say we’re doing an activity he can’t take part in, he’s fine with it. He knows we’ll take him back on it afterwards.
I bought Lightfall for us, and we’re up around 1795 now. Still playing fairly casually on an almost daily basis.
My wife and I both want to try out the raids, And would also like to find people to do the Nightfall with, etc.
I can handle my own, for the most part. Some days I struggle due to my coordination being a little messed up at time as, but this is pretty rare. I usually just don’t play on those days.

I (32 M) have been writing about an abusive relationship that I had over ten years ago and I’m really only now understanding the extent of the abuse.
I’m preparing for my next therapy session tomorrow where I want to talk in more detail about the abuse and how violent it was - both physically and mentally.
She had rules that I had to follow to show that I was committed to her and loved her. I wasn’t allowed to speak to or write text messages to other girls - friendships were completely out of the question. She had the passwords to my Facebook account and my phone records and emails because she said that I would give them to her if I had nothing to hide. But that meant she was constantly logged in to my account to see who was messaging me and what I was saying, looking through my phone records to see who I was texting and calling. We were on the phone together for hours at a time because we were long distance and I was never able to do anything for myself.
She would get angry and shout and accuse me of cheating on her when the rules weren’t followed and would end up using blackmail to get me to do what she wanted.
She used to ridicule me, invalidate me as a person and undermined me, even though she said that she loved me. She was physically violent towards me on more than one occasion and said that I deserved it. She told me that everything that was wrong in our relationship was my fault. I was the one to be blamed.
She sexually abused me by using sex as a manipulative tactic to show that I loved her even when I didn’t want to and made me feel guilty when I said no. In turn I would be made to feel like a failure and not a proper “man”.
She faked a pregnancy scare to get me to say that I would be committed to her if she became pregnant and that we would be a family together.
She ridiculed my family to get me to be against them and tried to put distance in between me and the closest members of my family to the extent that I couldn’t tell any of them what my relationship was like. In fact no family members or friends knew about how shit the relationship was until years after.
I spent the time in that relationship in constant fear of what was going to happen next. My anxiety was so severe that I started to self harm as a way to punish myself when I broke the rules. I was just so unhappy and I felt as though I could do nothing to change my situation because it was meant to be love.
In the end, she decided to break up with me because she no longer needed me for her to love herself. She just used me for more than two years as a way to boost her ego and her self-love. She took advantage of my kindness and generosity and ability to be so loving.
The physical and emotional violence still traumatises me now. It’s almost like the version of me in that relationship became part of my identity. It’s completely fucked up my relationships since and I don’t think that it is possible for me to be loved. I still feel like I deserved the abuse even after so much time has passed.
