2023.03.25 10:59 GanbaruSunshine Follow-Up to my Type Confusion and Socionics Study

Hello! I recently made a post on the main Socionics reddit regarding my confusing between IEE and EIE. I talked a little about myself and my relation to the functions also introversion vs extroversion. https://www.reddit.com/Socionics/comments/11xagi1/studying_socionics_confused_between_eie_and_iee/
I learned a lot from that thread and my conversations with others, and feel like I have a better grasp on the system. My discussions led me to basically sort out that I may not be an IEE and that ESE/SEI is also a possibility. In order to not fill up the Socionics reddit with more type confusion stuff, I wanted to follow-up on here to see if someone would help me and continue probing me for questions/info about my type! I have a hard time seeing myself as myself without direct feedback from others, so I've hit a snag in terms of my thinking and research.
I attached parts of the questionnaire as well below, I tried to keep the answers brief since there's so many.
##Section 1
**1. How do you work? Why do people go to work? Are there any parameters that determine whether you can do work or not? What are they?**
I work in bursts, I have a hard time doing work unless its meaningful to me or benefits others in a way I can see. I think a lot of people go to work just to survive, not necessarily because they enjoy it. That's a system issue which I could go into, but for the sake of this questionnaire, I won't. I think the world would be better if people worked on what they were passionate about and enjoyed and could make a comfortable salary. When I don't agree with the morals/ethics of the work I'm doing, feel it is menial or detrimental to society, I tend to not want to work. Especially if I'm being ordered around. I usually like making my own decisions and being the leader. I'm indecisive, but can be decisive when it comes to figuring out what's best for others. I have a hard time working for myself. I have so many ideas that I'd like to launch and people have told me I have so much potential...but its hard for me to activate it and get going, because I just don't see myself as being that valuable as the wellbeing of others.
**2. How do you determine the quality of work? How do you determine the quality of a purchase? Do you pay any attention to it?**
Quality of work depends on the result. If the result is good, I feel it's okay even if the way it was completed was not "following procedure." Quality of purchase I usually determine by doing research on product and what others are saying. I usually like to get the best product I can even if its something small/not used often. I play a lot of attention to that, also along to how the product makes me feel.
**3. There is a professional next to you. How do you know they are a professional? How do you evaluate their skill?**
Usually based on their status or how other people perceive them. I can be a bit indifferent to a professional, I see people as pretty much equal regardless of their social status/standing. Usually I think there's too much hype around them and sometimes I won't really agree with societies perception if my understanding/experience differs.
**4. If you struggle to do something, how do you fix that? Do you know if your performance is better or worse than others?**
Usually I research or ask others. A lot of times I get stuck on my own in tasks related to myself. Like trying to understand myself. Usually once I talk to someone else I can get a better understanding of what I'm doing wrong and everything clicks. I used to play games competitively and would constantly make the same errors, unable to realizing them myself. Someone would point it out and change my thinking/approach and then I would be able to improve myself as if a weight was lifted. Usually I compare my performance to my past self, I'm most in competition with myself but I also compete against others in private. I want to outdo others, but I'm not cutthroat about it.
**5. How do you measure the success of a job? What standard do you use? Do you pay attention to it? When should you deviate from this standard?**
This is kind of hard for me to answer, I don't focus on the things in this section that much. Usually success for me means not failing or reaching the standard. I seem to prioritize avoiding failure more-so than reaching for success. Failure as in running out of town, losing out, making a fatal error...etc.
**Meta-analysis:**
This whole section is hard to answer, I don't really focus on it. Or well I only do when the need arises, it feels like I need to switch myself over to think about these things, but I'd much rather be invested in other more positive things and not think too much about this. It feels very business like, which I am able to do, but I do these things to achieve the goal of positive change in the world or helping others, reaching my vision.

##Section 2
**1. What is a whole? Can you identify its parts? Are the parts equivalent to the whole?**
I don't really know??? I think something is whole when it's fully fulfilled? I can identify the parts perhaps, but I don't know if they're equivalent? They're only equivalent if the whole is meaningful as well? Hard for me to answer this one.
**2. What does "logical" mean? What is your understanding? Do you think that it correlates with the common view? How do you know you are being logical?**
Logical to me is about consistency. I don't know if I'm logical or not, but I strive to be when it is needed. I don't really know how to tell, but perhaps I would say I'm being logical if I'm being consistent in my thoughts/methods. To follow-up, I think I can change myself to be almost anything depending on what is needed, but not for long. I think a lot of people feel they are more logical than they really are, especially people who try to remove emotions from the nature of things all together.
**3. What is hierarchy? Give examples of hierarchies. Do you need to follow it? Why or why not? Explain how hierarchy is used in a system you are familiar with.**
Basically things that have status over others. I play/love video games so one of my first thoughts are tier lists, they place certain characters in higher positions due to being innately stronger by whatever criteria is relevant to the game. I never really agreed with this because how can we say something is ALWAYS better than the other? For instance, a person can get really good at a specific characteplaystyle and dominate everyone else. I feel when people focus too much on following these things it becomes dogmatic and takes the fun out of things. Even if you want to win, what is the point if you're not doing it your own way? If you're always following what everyone else is doing, what is the point in anything because its no longer your life.
**4. What is classification? How does classification work? Why is it needed and where is it applied? Give examples.**
Assigning something to a group or discovering what group it belongs to. Like uncovering the nature of an animal by identifying what group it belongs to scientifically. It can be useful to easily identify similarities between different things or create a system that allows you to draw conclusions without extra work.
**5. Are your ideas consistent? How do you know they are consistent? How do you spot inconsistency in others' ideas?**
I would think that they aren't consistent. I don't think it matters though if they are consistent as long as the meaning behind them is consistent. For instance I can change the way I view things pretty easily (and myself) so I wouldn't say I'm a consistent person internally. Outside I can appear as such but its more of a survival based trait less of a natural one. I don't really look to critique inconsistency in others so it's not natural to me. Instead, I like to find certain errors and help a person improve them. Actually the more I think of it, it might be looking for inconsistency. I was always good at proofreading others work, not just for punctuation/grammar, but to see if their ideas make sense in the grand scheme of things. It's unconscious for me to do this, I don't put much thought into it and comes into my head naturally when I see something that feels "incorrect."
An example is when someone is drawing a conclusion and it feels like it's somewhat right, but goes to the state of being extreme. Maybe someone had a bad run-in with a certain gender or culture and they assume all of them are are the same...this doesn't feel right because even though one experience was that way, it's not correct/consistent to assume that all other experiences will be the same. Like correlation does not equal causation?
**Meta-analysis:**
This section felt a bit harder AT FIRST, but when I thought about it more I had an easier time answering than the first one. Again, I don't really focus on these things consciously, but they do annoy me when people can be a little dogmatic about it. I guess this whole section to me boils down to "right vs wrong" and "correct vs incorrect" I feel like something can be the correct approach even if its not moral/emotional/rational, but then something else kicks in and decides not to act on it if it doesn't meat that criteria.
---
##Section 3
**1. Can you press people? What methods do you use? How does it happen?**
Not really...I kind of struggle with this. Sometimes I get frustrated, because it seems that people always are standing in my way. Usually its when I'm trying to do something for the betterment of others, they like to hinder me from reaching that goal. I relate to maneuvering around them, I don't really run people over. Or I like outperform them passively...becoming more successful, working hard, becoming a bit more stubborn.
**2. How do you get what you want? What do you do if you have to work to get what you want?**
Usually getting what I want isn't something I'm concerned with, usually it's what others want that's more important. I usually don't mind doing the hard work if its for what others want...but for what I want it's kind of hard to put in the work.
**3. How do you deal with opposition? What methods do you use to defend your interests?**
I can become pretty stubborn. I'm not a person to rely on anger and blow up on people, I'm more likely to try to reason. But I feel like a lot of people can't be reasoned with now, so I try to find alternatives around the conflict.
**4. When do you think it's ok to occupy someone's space? Do you recognize it?**
Does this mean physical space or space as an abstract concept? I think physical space is okay (if it means like tendenot combative) when you're emotionally close to the person. I like giving hugs and being near those who I am close to! Otherwise it's probably not okay! I don't think about this at all really.
**5. Do others think you are a strong-willed person? Do you think you have a strong will?**
I think I can appear to be weak on the surface, but inside I can be stronger than I realize. Actually, I'm not sure if others see me as this way. I've always had people tell me that I'm stronger than them, stronger than anyone they've met. This is strength in an abstract way, not physical. Just being able to outlast, persevere, not give up, work harder, learn faster, etc. I relate to the concept of quiet strength. I'm at my strongest and best when I'm fighting for others though!
**Meta-analysis:**
These concepts are kind of weird, because I don't naturally fight others, but I do enjoy certain aggression. I relate to applying pressure or power or drive when other people aren't. For instance, I sometimes like to turn my brain off in games and brute force myself at opponents. I play a lot of support in games, but sometimes I enjoy fighting and don't normally healbot (just passively healing.) Rushing in headfirst is kind of a thrill.
Now that I think about it, I enjoy being active more than passive. I sometimes appear passive because I don't want to cause harm to others, but I enjoy aggression to an extent. More so passion and less of aggression. Being passionate with my emotions, with people I like, touchy-feely, etc! I love being hands on and like work when I can move around. Not physical labor necessarily, but things that keep me moving. I always learned best from actually experiencing something rather than being told. Again it takes a backseat to what other people want though, so I can turn it down if necessary, but it provides a good release of energy for me to be a little loose!
---
##Section 4
**1. How do you satisfy your physical senses? What examples can you give? What physical experiences are you drawn to?**
This is kind of embarrassing, but I feel like satisfying them is almost compulsive for me. I'm attracted to sweets and certain delicacies. I like drinks the most. Food I'm more ambivalent about. Drinks as in things like smoothies, boba tea I loveee, teas of all kinds, milkshakes, all kinds of sweet drinks. I don't drink or smoke, but I like the way these make me feel...like emotionally better.
Also can be a little sexual, but I hide this part from my public image. I think sexual desires are pretty natural and people act like they're more taboo. Not necessarily should be flaunted in a trashy way...but people should accept that its natural to be sexually attracted to people, have different tastes, and want to explore them? Like I can understand why people are turned-off from it, but I think it's not good to deny our own natural instincts.
Ok on top of that, I'm drawn to things like good feelings and rush of excitement/energy! I don't even have to be the one doing it, but seeing other people doing something cool, gives me goosebumps. ANOTHER BIG THING IS MUSIC. I love listening to music and it affects me emotionally. Like I get goosebumps easily from songs that touch me to core. Sound is very big for me, I rely on it for everything. Sight would be next or maybe touch.
I love to move around and run. I run pretty much everywhere which can be kind of weird. But I always wondered why people just walk places...? Like its so much more fun to run and you can get to where you're going faster. It's nice to run when its windy too, it creates the perfect atmosphere. I think I'm getting carried away so I'll stop here.
**2. How do you find harmony with your environment? How do you build a harmonious environment? What happens if this harmony is disturbed?**
Hmm, I don't really know. I don't understand somewhat. Harmony with my environment is it like being comfortable? Because I'm comfortable when everyone else around is comfortable. So I usually work to make others comfortable. Sometimes I wish I was on my own, because I feel I would be perfectly comfortable and not have to be oriented to everyone else all the time. I have lived like that before though and was pretty set in inertia/apathy, becoming a slave to my impulses.
For instance in college, I moved out of my family home and stayed in a solo dorm. It was nice having the freedom at first, but it started to reinforce my worse habits. Without external expectations/motivations, I couldn't find a reason to do much of anything. So I ended up not going to classes, not finishing my work, becoming sluggish. The more alone I stayed the more sluggish and worn down I became. Instead of correcting it, I turned to impulsive needs...binging TV and the like. It wasn't until I was forced out of that environment that I turned back to my normal self again.
So sometimes my harmony being disturbed is beneficial to wake me up out of inertia.
**3. What does comfort mean to you? How do you create it?**
Comfort means being in a good state that allows me to be emotionally stable. State as in a mindset, or harboring/staying true to positive emotional feelings. Being comfortable that I won't be attacked for being myself or not necessarily having to bend to the needs of everyone else. I...don't necessarily create it I'm usually forced into it after everything else falls to the wayside.
Outside of that, I sometimes force myself to have this comfort by taking time away from the outside world...while also being connected to the outside world? Like it could be picking up a book I've always wanted to read or manga/anime I've wanted to watch. Playing a game that is solo and just delving into the story. Or thinking about myself and life and what I want out of it. Basically I get the comfort when I focus on my needs for a change, and not everyone elses. OH comfort also comes when I have a guide/goal to follow. I don't like being restricted or forced to do something, but again I can feel aimless when there's no clear path, next steps, or goal for me to work towards. Again I start feeling like things are static and unchanging and it's depressing. So when I have something like that, I feel comfortable and really get in touch with my inner strength.
**4. How do you express yourself in your hobbies? How do you engage yourself with those things?**
OH this is fun! My hobbies are what's really real and true to me! Like I enjoy my hobbies and turn the knowledge I gain from them, experiences, and well the emotional energy into my pursuits in the real world. I'd feel most at home doing work related to my hobbies as long as it's benefiting the world in some way. I don't really have a preference for escaping or running away from problems using them. Sometimes it helps me quiet down my anxiety though.
My hobbies are writing, music, games, anime/manga, and collecting! I enjoy collecting things that are meaningful to me such as figurines...I also like crystals. Usually I represent these things and carry them with me to keep myself grounded and motivated. My wardrobe is based a lot on my hobbies as well.
My passion for these things usually is what takes me into new experiences, I became a leader and met most of my close relationships through my interests. I feel like it's a part I've come to neglect as I've gotten older because it takes a backseat to what I feel I need to do or should do to support others/my family. But its still very important to me.

**5. Tell us how you'd design any room, house or an office. Do you do it yourself, or trust someone else to do it? Why?**
I usually talk big and say I'd do it myself...then end up asking for help because I'm indecisive! When I was younger I was much more confident just relying on my own perception and likes/dislikes for what I made/designed. For some reason getting older made me less confident in my own ability to judge that, so sometimes I have to seek out others to tell me. I don't always like to do that though, because it loses it's personal meaning for me when I share too much of my interests/ideas with others. It doesn't feel special anymore.
**Meta-analysis:**
This section was really fun to write about! It also makes me feel a bit bad, because I feel like I've neglected myself here and should focus on this more.
---
##Section 5
**1. Is it acceptable to express emotions in public? Give examples of inappropriate expression of emotions.**
Yes I think it's acceptable as long as it's not overdone to the point of being phony/attention-seeking. Some things can be kind of trashy, such as excessive displays of affection. I think people are too harsh on others who display emotion out in the open though! Like those who end up crying due to the pressure/stress they face. I've always tried not to show my worse sides to maintain a certain image/stability. The times I've cried in public have been very few and could be counted on one hand. But I don't judge others for doing so.
**2. How do you express your emotions? Can you tell how your expressions affect others in a positive or negative way?**
I don't think I express them that well...at least in real life. I much prefer communicating my emotions via text and find it hard to be fully vulnerable with someone face-to-face. I don't think it's because I'm not emotional though, I relate to most things through emotion. It's just perhaps an insecurity that I gained due to the environment I was in. I've had harden myself to withstand some of worse parts of life and sometimes I feel people will think less of me if I'm fully myself. It slips out online though because its a place I'm much more comfortable with, almost with my family. Again just positive emotions, I tend to hide my negative emotions a bit better. When I was younger, I was described as having a poker face, but I would mostly keep a pleasant expression at most times.
**3. Are you able to change your demeanor in order to interact with your environment in a more or less suitable way? How do you determine what is suitable?**
It's not necessarily to interact with the environment, I feel I naturally become what people see in me. I have trouble typing myself because of this. If someone tells me I am IEE I will be an IEE. If someone says I'm EIE, I will act like that. My image will shift to match the expectations of others in a way. It's not even something I want to do, but I can't turn it off. It's more or less what's suitable, but what would make the person feel better.
**4. In what situations do you feel others' feelings? Can you give examples of when you wanted to improve the mood of others?**
Usually I feel emotion/feelings in regards to everything. Things (even objects) seem to be emotion colored. As in when I look at something in invokes some type of feeling. The same goes for anyone I'm interacting with. So of course I look for the best way to improve someones feelings. I had a struggle with this when I worked in education, I conflicted with other educators because they were focused on the accuracy of the material and doing things from their perspective. I was more focused on the students emotional/mental state and if they were feeling good/healthy. I felt they learned more when someone adequately addressed their needs holistically, as humans. More so than when the focus was on memorization of material.
**5. How do others' emotions affect you? How does your internal emotional state correlate or contrast with what you express?**
They affect me so much. Its almost like I absorb them. When I was younger people would describe me almost like a sponge...but unlike a sponge I wouldn't hold onto the emotions. It would go inside and flow through me, I'd experience it and then it'd flow out. Now I feel like I can hold onto them more when I'm less healthy. Usually my internal state is hard to portray. I try to express myself, but sometimes its hard to get the right words or adequately put the feeling into words. That's why I tend to focus so much more on others. Understanding everyone else is easier...myself is the real mystery.
**Meta-analysis:**
Again this section was easy for me to answer, but it felt a little more serious. Still not bad though!
##Section 6
**1. How can you tell how much emotional space there is between yourself and others? How can you affect this space?**
Don't really know how to answer this. I don't understand the concept of emotional space. Does this mean like a gap between my feelings and others? I feel like I only fee this when I'm alone then, when I'm with others the feelings merge together.
**2. How do you determine how much you like or dislike someone else? How does this affect your relationships?**
Usually based on how they treat others and what values they hold (also how they act on those values.) I don't really like individuals who are really controlling of others and judge them for their behavior, but honestly I can see a charm in most behavior quirks! Things that are just bad no matter like racism, sexism, homophobia, etc are pretty much non negotiable, especially if they're causing direct harm to others because of those values.
I also don't like when people try to overrun or discount my own values or try to shape my values into something they're not. This has caused me to end a few relationships. Sometimes I end up leaving the relationship because I've noticed how merged I am with my partner and it bothers me. I've lost some really good relationships though...when all that was needed were a few boundaries. So I regret this tendency.
**3. How do you move from a distant relationship to a close one? What are the distinguishing characteristics of a close relationship?**
This happens kind of naturally...but usually I become more engaged with someone who needs help. I make friends very easily, they usually end up seeking me out. I sometimes act as the person to do things for them, take initiative, while they're a bit more passive. I'm not necessarily seeking that role but I naturally meld into it. Most close friends/partners I had were due to me offering to help them and taking an interest in their development.
I mentioned this before but people tend to follow me around? Like physically and literally...look to me to lead them. I sometimes express discomfort on the service but I enjoy it being connected to a person this way and serving as a guide for them. Usually they help me by providing constant support/affection.
Close relationships are usually ones though where I can be my vulnerable self. They don't have as many expectations from me anymore and I can just be what I am. But I don't usually know what I am...so I hope they can help me find this too.
**4. How do you know that you are a moral person? Where do you draw your morality from? Do you believe others should share your beliefs on what's moral? Why?**
Hmm, I don't really know if I am one. I try to do the right thing, and that's pretty much it. There's not really anything else I think about, I only really know what bothers me when it occurs in a real situation. Real or maybe an example of one. I just try to do what's right for others and myself...but I learned being right is hard...sometimes and not clear cut. I don't think people need to share my beliefs, I don't think I'd force them on others. People just need to be respectful of others beliefs...but not if they're just pure hate. I think sometimes we're too tolerant to beliefs that are actually not beliefs just hate.
**5. Someone you care about is acting distant to you. How do you know when this attitude is a reflection of your relationship?**
Don't really know...I think I wouldn't really think of this as a relationship issue but more of something being wrong with the person. Usually when someone is consistently different, I don't have much drive to maintain contact.
**Meta-analysis:**
This sections feels a little abstract, so I can't really answer properly...I don't see things or relationships this way, the whole concept of "relationship" as something separate doesn't really occur to me. I just think of the other person.
---
##Section 7
**1. How can you tell someone has the potential to be a successful person? What qualities make a successful person and why?**
I think almost everyone has the potential to change themselves for the better. Success isn't about career, money, status...to me its more about utilizing your strengths and pursuing your passion to be what you want to be. If a person wants to live comfortable then that's their version of success. If another wants to be the president, that's their version. Neither are incorrect as long as they are happy and fulfilled.
**2. Where would you start when looking for a new hobby? How do you find new opportunities and how do you choose which would be best?**
Hmm I don't really go out looking for hobbies. My interests were formed naturally by things I felt a connection to. I have a hard time narrowing down new opportunities to ones that I'd really think are best but searching for them again seems pretty easy, like I don't need to think about it.
**3. How do you interpret the following statement: "Ideas don't need to be feasible in order to be worthwhile." Do you agree or disagree, and why?**
I don't really agree or disagree, because what is feasible? What is an example of an non-feasible idea? One that can't be applied realistically in this current moment? Well how do we know it can't be applied? Like who is the judge? I think almost anything can be possible, we just may not be aware of the method to make it possible yet. So I feel like any idea holds merit and shouldn't be constrained by what's real right now.
**4. Describe your thought process when relating the following ideas: swimming, chicken, sciences. Do you think that others would draw the same or different connections?**
Chickens may swim in lakes sometimes and a scientist might study why chickens are doing so. Perhaps this is unusual behavior for chickens to be swimming so they're taking an look into the cause of this behavior? Or maybe they found a way to enhance the taste of chicken by swimming through a certain body of water? That sounds really stupid but popped in my head! Perhaps someones an actual "chicken" or coward and swimming to get away from their science exam. There's many things I can think of with this haha. I don't think people would think the same, but there's so many things you could link this to.
Another one...there's been research on swimming science...perhaps a new swimming technique that replicates the movements of a chicken. Or maybe some scientists thought it'd be cool to eat chicken while swimming to get newfound inspiration? I could keep going but I'll stop because these sound stupid lol.
**5. How would you summarize the qualities that are essential to who you are? What kind of potential in you has yet to be actualized and why?**
I don't...really know. I mean I do know but also don't. The qualities most important to me are being open-minded and adaptable, being kind, having hope and perseverance. I would hate to become a close-minded, stuck in the mud person. I want to believe in things even if they're silly or unrealistic. Life is magical and I think people should take things less seriously some times. Not everything needs to be proved to have value.
Potential that has yet to be actualized...probably a lot. I feel like I could do a lot of good for this world and others, but I'm holding myself back. Why? I don't really know why, but perhaps I'm scared of being too much or even more so, scared of not being able to realize this. If I try my hardest and still fail, then what is left?
At the same time, I think other's see my potential more than I see it myself.
**Meta-analysis:**
Nothing much to say about this one, seemed pretty straightforward to me!
---
##Section 8
**1. How do people change? Can you describe how various events change people? Can others see those changes?**
Nature vs nurture is what comes to mind. Some people are dealt a hand and they may not change much from that. Others are changed by life and their circumstances. I think trauma is a big thing that changes people...also the demands of our world. The world we live in or well our "society" is not built to support everyone. It's not fair and it's not right, so I can see people being forced to change just to survive. This really bothers me. Other people can see those changes, but I think sometimes those who are lucky to fit well with this society tend to look the other way.
**2. How do you feel and experience time? Can time be wasted? How?**
I don't? I can sometimes pinpoint exactly what time it is without a clock. Other times I can be very off. I don't really think time is wasted unless you're doing something you don't like. If its fun its not a waste as its contributing to your wellness of spirit.
**3. Is there anything that cannot be described with words? What is it? If so, how can we understand what it is if language does not work?**
A lot of things...probably the inner nature of humans. For me, I can't express what I truly feel inside. It comes out somewhat, but it's never what I truly feel or imagine. There are other things like invisible bonds we have to others, things you just know without needing to explain. Being bonded or drawn to someone or something for no particular reason...you can't really describe it or what causes it...it just happens.
To understand it...well you can't really? At least not fully. If you could, it'd ruin the nature of it. To me this feels more like something spiritual than a material world issue.
**4. How do you anticipate events unfolding? How can you observe such unfoldments in your environment?**
Usually I can tell the direction something is headed by the patterns that are present. It doesn't need to be a direct correlation, there doesn't need to be proof...sometimes there's just a feeling. Knowing that its right, or at least being very sure. If asked to explain it can't really be explained...but you just know? Also based off past trends and behavior. I look at symbols or experiences I've had before or witnessed in different places (past experiences, representations in media, in other things.) Honestly I enjoy fiction because it teaches so much about why things happen and HOW they happen. So by understanding the cause/effect in fiction, you can identify the same in the real world.
**5. In what situations is timing important? How do you know the time is right to act? How do you feel about waiting for the right moment?**
There's an instinct to just do it. Like the meme, but I've always thought there's a lot of truth in it. I think you'll just know, but the question is less of knowing the time and more of getting yourself to have the courage to take the step. I've missed a lot of things because I knew the time was right...felt it to my core, but I didn't believe in it or myself enough to act on it. Those are my biggest regrets honestly. Of course I was instantly proven right, that I did actually know and I should've acted. But I just couldn't do it.
Waiting for the right moment has merit too! I do that sometimes when the answer isn't clear. Again its just a gut instinct, nothing concrete to base it off. When I feel it, I get a sense inside that I should wait. Almost like some inner voice tells me to wait it out. I'll try to force things sometimes, but it never goes well. It goes back to "just wait." Eventually the right time appears and I realize it was worth waiting for.
**Meta-analysis:**
I liked this section, it feels like a part of myself that was...lost to history, but was brought to light again.

THIS WAS A LOT TO WRITE. SORRY IF THERE ARE ERRORS. IF YOU READ THIS WHOLE THING THANKS SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME!

2023.03.25 10:50 Anymousbodybuilder Bf (M29) made a big deal because I told him (F20) that him going to a wild pool party bar without me made me uncomfortable. Need some perspective.

So my bf and I have been together for 7 months and have lived together for the past 3. We've only ever got into 2 arguments ever, and we have a peaceful relationship. So basically he made plans with his friends to go to this pool bar party and since I am not 21 I cannot get in. I expressed to him that I don't mind if he goes clubbing or does something else but him going to a place like that without his spouse bothered me. Mind you he went to this place 2 weekends ago and I didn't know what kind of place it was until afterwards, even then I told him it made me feel a type of way and he still went regardless but he texted me checking up on me throughout the whole time he was there. So it is his birthday weekend he made plans but it hurt my feelings that he didn't think to consider to ask how I felt about him going. It also hurt my feelings that he didn't even bother to try to figure out something that we can all do instead of excluding me. It turned into this big argument that went on for 2 days. His reaction to me bringing this situation up disappointed me. Because if the roles were reversed and he came to me feeling like this I would have been more understanding and came up with different plans. I felt like my feelings were not prioritized or validated. He ended up deciding not to go and kind've made a fit about it "I don't even want to go anymore." We then had a talk where he apologized about the way he handled the situation and told me he didn't want to be controlled and that he has been in many relationships and that when he felt like he was controlled it didn't end well. I don't feel like I'm controlling because I've never told him what he can and can't do, this is the first time I told him something genuinely made me uncomfortable. I feel like in relationships certain things you have to compromise because it isn't just about you it's about you and your partner. Anyways what is your perspective on this situation?

2023.03.25 10:49 SquishyPurrs 24 [M4F] Italy/EU -- Gentle guardian seeking his forever temptress

Please avoid messaging if you plan to waste our time, expect me to chase after you, decide to stop replying due to loss of interest and other such things of the sort. I'm not here to deal with immaturity.
Bonus: Canadians are also welcome in this!
Name's Valentine. I live in northern Italy though I'm not italian. You likely have seen me post here before but, I tend to change things a little every time. Mostly because of my sincere creative nature. That is to say, I'm never offering something that is not me or that I cannot follow through with. That would honestly just be so disrespectful.
I'm seeking a long term girlfriend. Lover, soulmate, best friend (not in the friend zone), player number 2 in video games, a dearest someone that will protect my emotions, soul and body while I do the same in return for her. A person that can pretty much do everything she wants to on her own but would very much rather lean on me instead so we can share the load. A person that will seek comfort in my arms whenever she needs to cry and forget about the world while also offering the same in return for whenever I need to just be small and be hidden and protected against a warm chest to shed my pains out of me. Emotional availability and understanding, open mindedness, desire to serve and be served.
In a more.. fantasy (?) mindset, think of us as the Queen that rules her kingdom and the giant feline creature that sits in her lap or by her throne, waiting to act for the safety of his beloved. That is to say that I am a bit of a switchy but without any specific lean. It just depends on my partner really.
So far so good? Hit me up on Disc. Its on my profile. Don't bother messaging me here. Just add me directly.

2023.03.25 10:46 coffeesipper123 Does a standard Australian bachelor's degree qualify you for postgraduate study in the UK (England specifically)?

I'm looking for an answer to this question and I can't really seem to find clear information online. Apologies if it's not the correct forum.
I'm an Australian currently living in the UK and am considering pursuing post-graduate study in the future, but I'm quite confused about about degree equivalency between the two countries. Pretty much all of the courses I've looked at say that I need at least a "2:1 undergraduate honours degree" to qualify, which I understand in England is a three year bachelor's degree with a third year dissertation. In Australia, a standard bachelor's degree is three years and typically does not include a dissertation; it would only be considered an honours degree if you elected to do a forth year research project. This is fairly unheard of in my discipline of study, which was nursing.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows how likely an English university is to accept a standard Australian bachelor's qualification in the place of a UK three-year honours degree? I think my overalls marks would fit the 2:1 requirement; I graduated "with distinction," i.e. GPA >6.00/7.00.
I realise that this question is best directed towards a university applications department, which I will be doing, but I'm just wondering if anyone here has any insight or advice in the interim please.

2023.03.25 10:46 Honk_Konk Do you ever go to Church?

I grew up agnostic despite being christened and having friends heavily involved in the baptist Church in Wales. It only occurred to me that Christianity recently became a minority religion in the UK.
I don't attend Church but love the aesthetic element in Churches. I also believe them to be a force for good, because they are places places communities come together to celebrate the good things in society and believe they have an important role in the community and helping the less fortunate. So, it's a shame when I speak to elderly people who tell me that when they were little, churches of all denominations were open 24/7, vicars assigned to a church. Now they are usually closed, sold off for development and usually one vicar oversees several churches. I do believe people are more willing and accepting of being non-religious; it's not a taboo like it was in the past. So my question is, do you get involved in your church? :)

2023.03.25 10:43 Odd_Avocado_5660 Input on designing an introduction to python course

Hi!
I am designing a mandatory Python-based introductory programming course for *all* engineering students at my university (software engineering to medico technology!).
The course will be placed in their first semester and correspond to 1/6th of their overall workload in that semester (5ECTS/13 teaching sessions/2h teaching+2h lab). It will run in parallel to the math-course, which has examples typeset in notebooks using numpy/sympy (but from a user perspective).
For some of the technical lines (AI, robotics, etc.) this will unfortunately be their only mandatory programming course, which mean it has to do a great deal for a lot of different students. Because of these demands, I would ideally like it to start from the absolute basics (*no* prior programming experience) and end up with basic OOP as this will be important for those who do AI later (sklearn, torch, etc.), with a minimum of deviations along the way. The course will be open source (i.e. hosted on gitlab pages; all material available without login).
I have looked for other courses for inspiration, but many other courses include additional things (CS50 from Harvard) or seem to assume to much prior knowledge: https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/6-0001-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-in-python-fall-2016/
The kind of course I am aiming for (obviously this is open to criticism) is one that focuses maximally on the language (primitive datatypes, functions, lists+other compound types, loops, basic oop, basics about packages), somewhat focuses on useful developer skills (what is an interpreter, how to debug code, etc.) and very minimally on everything else (no regexp, no big libraries like pandas, only basic file reading/writing, etc.). The lab sessions will be based on editing/writing .py files in VSCode.
I am hoping that some here can recommend good resources -- Ideally an open-source course which has a similar scope and a really good progression curve, or a good (concise!) book, etc. Any general advice is of course welcome, but I feel stumped by the whole 'what fit in which weeks and how much' side of things. My current outline is:
  1. intro, print, simple functions, algebraic operations: Basically a very few examples of python to talk over that 'we will get to'. Must assume many don't have python working yet.
  2. primitive types, conversions int('31'), basic functions (analogy with math).
  3. functions++, variables, if/else. Mention type annotation to avoid confusion.
  4. Reading/writing text files as 'copy paste code', string operations. String manipulation is formatted as a soft intro to lists.
  5. Lists, loops, tuples, functions of multiple variables. "adfsa".split(), "".join(..), etc.
  6. Sets, functions of mutiple output arguments, comprehension, range(), enumerate()
  7. dicts, more on comprehension and looping, items()
  8. exceptions, asesrt, packages (all just a very brief overview). This is a catch-up lecture
  9. classes 1 (classes, mutability)
  10. classes 2 (inheritance, __add__, etc.)
  11. build your own sympy 1: running example on building an alternative sympy
  12. build your own sympy 2: running example on building a sympy + catch-up

In ancient Kahndaq, Teth Adam bestowed the almighty powers of the gods. After using these powers for vengeance, he was imprisoned, becoming Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher. Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher has gone from man to myth to legend. Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.

Production companies: Warner Bros. Pictures.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU’s roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam, and so on. As

Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).

“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman, Noah Centineo’s Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell’s Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ’s Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher.)

“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That’s why you see in Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, we acknowledge everyone: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There are also some Easter eggs in there, too. So that’s what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting’ wasn’t a good term. only

one can claim to be the most powerful superhero. And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it’s his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel, or otherwise

“By the way, it’s not hyperbole because we made the movie.”And we made him this powerful.

There’s nothing so wrong with “Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre’s—and the business’s—bad habits into a single two-hour-plus package, and only hints at the format’s occasional pleasures. “Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher” feels like a place-filler for a movie that’s remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there’s little to distract from the movie’s pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.

It’s no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naïve delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You’re Crazy, Jerry.”Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher ” could be retitled ‘You’re a Superhero, Dwayne’—it’s the marketing team’s PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length.

In addition to being Johnson’s DC Universe debut, “Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill’s Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.

“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn’t know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher (2022) FULL MOVIE ONLINE

Is Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher Available On Hulu? Viewers are saying that they want to view the new TV show Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

Is Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher Streaming on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it’s not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.

While Disney eventually releases its various studios’ films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don’t arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film’s theatrical release.

Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher has finally ended the box office blues. It will be a Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher call, but based on the estimates, the year’s biggest opener remains Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187 million start. Nonetheless, Wakanda Forever’s $180 million opening is a huge one, being the biggest ever for the month of November (beating the $158 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), the second biggest of the year, and the 13th biggest of all time (though it could go up or down a few slots once the actuals come out). It led an overall weekend box office of $208 million, which is the fourth biggest of the year and the biggest by a long shot of the past four months, with no other weekend since July 8 -10 even going above $133 million.

This isn’t the $202 million opening that we saw from Black Panther in February 2018, nor should we expect the amazing legs that were able to get that film to an astonishing $700 million. With that said, expect it to perform strongly throughout the holiday season, likely repeating the five-weekend number-one streak that the first film had, and it shouldn’t have any trouble becoming the second-highest-grossing film of the year so far, beating the $411 million cume of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The audience response is strong, with the A CinemaScore falling below the first film’s A+ but bouncing back from the B+’s earned by Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder, which ranked among the worst for the MCU. an improvement over the recent franchise installations, with the aforementioned films coming in at 74% and 64% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, both at the lower end for Marvel films, while Wakanda Forever’s 84% is Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcherr to franchise norms, though not meeting the high bar set by the first Black Panther’s 96%.

The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year’s third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film’s $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it’s not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It’d be another story if audiences didn’t love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year’s earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).

As for the rest of the box office, there’s little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there’s still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.

Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn’t totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn’t a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it’s the biggest of any film since Thor: Love and Thunder, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.

Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season’s most durable grasses and one of the year’s few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )

, which isn’t surprising considering it’s the only family film on the market, and it’s Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher to grossing four times it’s $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget, though a number of international markets have yet to open.

Finishing up the top five is Smile, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that’s no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and a global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.

The one new specialty title of note comes from a filmmaker we don’t typically associate with the specialty box office: Steven Spielberg. The Beard’s semi-autobiographical family drama Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher opened in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles to $160k, a $40k average. The film expands to 600 theaters the day before Thanksgiving, and it has the potential to break out in a way that none of the other season’s awards contenders have. We’re also seeing very solid numbers from Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher, which grossed $1.7 million this weekend for a seventh-place finish, bringing its cume to $5.8 million. Sugar Girls

2023.03.25 10:37 Neither-Nectarine920 #1 Loser

okay so i’m 22 and I’m pathetic. Literally. if you search that word in a dictionary my face will pop up. Idek why i’m even typing this out on reddit for you all to see, but I am. My brothers and sisters are getting there lives on a path to success just like everyone else while I struggle to do so. Dropped put of college, gave up on life. I stopped caring pretty much about everything including myself. Addicted to nicotine. Unmotivated. I’m too anxious to go get a job. just the thought of going out someplace and asking for a job gives me anxiety. I’m tired all the time, but when i try to sleep it is difficult for me to. I still think about my horrible ex. Even though I hate her. she did cheat on me… but i can’t help think about how she’s doing or how she thinks of me even though she prolly thinks i’m a low life, which is true. i just play or stream video games all day because it helps me get out of my head and it’s the only place i feel comfortable and have friends. I also am very quiet so whenever i go in public it’s hard for me to talk even to my own parents, but when i’m gaming with my friends on discord it’s not a problem for some reason. I don’t feel worthy if even trying to pick my life back up. Idk why but i feel ashamed. Ashamed of who I am. I feel like i’m being judged 24/7 and that everyone knows I’m a low life loser. I have no idea what i want to do in life and I’m scared for my future. I have $70 in my account rn and idek how i’ll be paying my car insurance this month or the next. I just don’t know what to do. i don’t feel like doing anything. I don’t even have the motivation to do anything. Lowkey wanna die but i’ll never kms. just venting to the world and i don’t even care if you guys talk trash about/to me. i’m used to it. Just feel like venting. idek what i’m doing anymore. life seems pointless.

2023.03.25 10:30 Kalani_Vegan Got dumped trough WhatsApp and labelled as disrespectful because of her own typo

In February I met this girl that I had a lot in common with, we experienced many similar things and traumas in live, we are both vegan, Childfree, both catmoms, we both love traveling and want to join volunteer projects for wild animals in Costa Rica. I felt like I was having a date with myself. And after loosing many friends I was really excited to meet someone that was so likeminded, she seemed to have the potential to become a great friend. I felt almost like I was having a date with myself. The first time we met was in Amsterdam. I suggested a few vegan restaurants and she picked one. 2 weeks later we went to another restaurant she picked in Utrecht where she lives. A place I never would have picked, small overpriced portions of sticky food, but I enjoyed spending time with her and again we both found out we have even more in common. When I arrived home 2 hours later she had send me a message that she enjoyed it so much with me, that I have been through so many things and I have been so strong and she told me I could be proud at myself and that she looks forward to visit me and my cats in Hoorn. So I shared my appreciation as well and picked a date together for her to visit me. That was supposed to be today, so about a month after seeing her the last time. In that month I kept in touch by sending her cat videos and memes that reminded me of her. She responded positively to all of them. A few days ago I saw an announcement for a free lambada and zouk beginners class in Utrecht. So I send her the info and asks if she is interested. A day later she replies 'sure!' 'that will be something totally new for me, let's get me out of my comfort zone! So I instantly got a free ticket for the lambada, as I have been dancing Zouk for 7 years already. So I let her know that I got the free ticket for Lambada only. She replies 'oh, then I am not sure if that's convenient. I want to try Zouk, itt Lambada, and then we would have o wait for each other.'
So I replied 'we can both do Lambada right? And if you also want to do Zouk, I can maybe ask if I can come as a leader instead of a followers because I have no experience as a leader. Would you like that?'
Than her shocking reply comes.
'Sorry but I already told you I don't want to do that. I don't like that you are ignoring that and disrespecting me. And to be honest I don't want contact anymore because I don't have a good feeling about our contact. I can't and won't ignore my feelings about this'
I was utterly shock as it wasn't clear to me that she didn't want to do the Lambada at all. She typed 'itt Lambada' so I thought she meant with Lambada. I thought the issue was that I wouldn't do the Zouk class, not that she didn't want to do Lambada. Apparently she meant to write 'not Lambada', so I misinterpreted her typo.
So I have written a response that it is a misunderstanding and that I was actually asking about her preferences so that I am not ignoring and disrespecting her at all. But she refuses to read my messages and it really has an impact on my current mental health as I am so disappointed and frustrated.
I just can't let it go. I also keep wondering if she just dumped me because of this misunderstanding, or that there was more she didn't like. But that wouldn't not make any sense as she agrees for 2 invitations after our 2nd meeting for instance and even showed appreciation and the contact at a distance was all fun and light.
As she is the 5th (potential) friend to 'unfriend' me this year I really start to doubt myself, my nerves system is upset, while rationally I don't think I did anything to make her feel bad or disrespected. 😭.

2023.03.25 10:26 Anteprefix [High School Robotics] Scorched Earth: Is it okay to invite a team you know doesn't want to play with you?

I was inspired by u/Could-Have-Been-King 's post on the 2012 Canadian FRC sabotage incident to make a post about an incident in FRC 1 year later in the 2013 season. I recommend reading through that post first as it is fascinating and also provides a good overview of what FRC is for people who are not familiar with it. To give a brief description, FRC (First Robotics Competition) is a high school robotics program that aims to teach students STEM skills by treating robotics as a sport. Teams made of students and adult mentors work to design, build, and program remote-controlled robots to score points in a game challenge that changes each year.
Teams made of teams
Each team fields a single robot in an FRC event, but ever since 2002, matches are played in a 3v3 format. Each event is divided into a qualification segment and an eliminations tournament. For qualification, a semi-random match schedule is generated to determine which teams play against each other in which matches, with priority given to factors such as each team playing the same number of matches, avoiding back-to-back matches for a team, and not having the same teams pair up with or against each other repeatedly. Each match your team wins earns your team ranking points, which are critically important for the elimination tournament.
After qualifiers are over, teams are ranked in order of most earned ranking points to least, and the top 8 teams are guaranteed to enter the elimination tournament. But hold on, the matches are played 3v3, so how do individual teams become teams of teams for the tournament?
Alliance Selection
To make teams of 3 teams, a process called Alliance Selection happens just before the tournament. It boils down to a draft where the highest ranked team gets to choose which team they want, then the next highest ranked unpicked team, until the 8th highest unpicked team chooses, after which the 3rd team is chosen starting from 8th place and snakes it's way back up to 1st (hence the term "serpentine draft"). Notice how I said "unpicked"? In FRC, you are allowed to pick other teams within the top 8 to join your alliance. Indeed it's very common to see the 1st ranked team pick the 2nd ranked team, like the infamous 2056/1114 combo that u/Could-Have-Been-King discussed at length in their post. In the event that this occurs, each team ranked below the picked team would shift up in the hierarchy, allowing the 9th ranked team to join the top 8. It's possible for this to happen 7 times in one selection, resulting in the 15th ranked team ending up in the top 8.
The FRC World Championship
Most every FRC team's dream is to win the FRC World Championship, which was held in St. Louis in 2013. But making it all the way to the top is a terrifyingly difficult gauntlet. At local events, you usually compete against somewhere between 30 - 60 teams depending on the size of the event. In 2013, 400 teams competed for the title of World Champion; long odds even when 3 teams get to claim the title. Obviously trying to organize a 400 team free for all during qualification in a fair and sensible manner is impossible, so the event was broken up into 4 divisions of 100 randomly assigned teams each: Archimedes, Curie, Newton, and Galileo. Each division would hold its own qualification and tournament and the 4 winning alliances of the divisions would face off against each other to see who was really worthy of being called World Champion.
What the hell happened in Curie?
Here's where we start to get into the meat of the controversy. At the end of qualification matches in the Curie division, the top 8 looked like this. None of the top contenders were in the top 3, and several of them had been pushed out of the top 8 entirely. How could the invincible 2056 OP Robotics be ranked 4th with such a dominant robot? How could powerful full court shooters like 67 and 148 be ranked 14th and 16th? Who was this nobody team that ranked 1st? Before anyone had time to process the mess that had been produced by the qualification matches, alliance selection began on Curie.
As the 1st ranked team on Curie, 1678 had earned the right to select their alliance partner first, and chose 1717, an excellent scoring team. And 1717 said no. Oh, did I forget to mention that you can decline another team's invitation? Of course not! I saved that info for now, as a surprise. Since 1717 was securely in 6th place, they didn't feel the need to accept an invitation from a team with far inferior scoring capabilities. They could simply decline the invitation and invite another team that they liked better once the top 5 had picked.
After 1717 declined, 1678 invited 2056, the Canadian team that had never lost a local event. 2056 declined. 1678 invited 1310. 1310 declined. 1678 invited 359. 359 declined. At this point the crowd in the stands was in shock. 4 declines in a row? Who would they pick next? 1678 picked 148, a team whose robot specialized in being able to score without needing to move around the field. And finally, 148 accepted their invitation
This string of declined invitations had a serious effect beyond shocking the crowd into going "oooh" 4 times in a row. To prevent lower ranked teams from declining repeatedly until they are picked by a team they like, which would defeat the purpose of the ranking system, teams are not allowed to invite teams that have declined an invitation. Since 1717, 2056, 1310, and 359 had all declined 1678's invitation, none of them could be invited by each other or any other team for that matter. 1678 had just split apart every superpower alliance that could have formed before the 2nd ranked team even had a chance to pick.
The elimination tournament that followed had its own fair share of drama and controversy, with match deciding penalties that made some question the game's rules, the 3rd seed alliance captained by a rookie team making it to division finals, and a red card assigned to 1678's alliance that was swiftly protested not by 1678, but their opponents who felt that the referees had made a mistake. 1678's alliance did eventually win their division to earn a chance at becoming World Champions, but fell victim to bad luck when the wiring on their robot failed.
The focus of this post however, is on the alliance selection.
How did it happen?
They say that hindsight is 2020, but here in 2023, I can do even better. As the importance of robust statistical analysis has become apparent in strategizing and choosing your alliance partners in FRC, tools to understand teams and events through numbers have popped up. Let's use one of the more advanced ones to take a look at what happened 10 years ago. Here are the top 8 teams in terms of EPA (expected points added), or in other words, the top 8 teams in terms of offensive capability. You'll note that none of the top 3 ranked teams at the event appear here and that all 4 of the top 8 best offense teams that actually ranked in the top 8 were picked by 1678. In fact, 1678 was ranked 23rd in terms of offensive capability, meaning that all 7 of the other top 8 would be better off declining invitations from 1678 and instead choosing another team from outside of the top 8. That certainly explains why 1678 was declined so many times, but why did 1678 end up ranked 1st when there were so many more capable teams?
The website I used for statistical analysis of FRC teams recently added a new feature: strength of schedule metrics. Since you can't control who you play with and against during qualification matches, there's an element of luck to how many ranking points your team can earn during qualification, no matter how good or bad your robot is. Let's take a look at the strength of schedule for the top 8 ranked teams in Curie 2013. Each of the "scores" to the right of a team's EPA represents what percentage of randomly generated schedules would be better for a team than the actual match schedule that was used at the event in terms of that statistic. 0.50 represents a "balanced" schedule where 50% of randomly generated schedules are better and 50% are worse. 1678's EPA score for this event is 0.0. Let that sink in for a moment. 100% of randomly simulated schedules for this event were worse for 1678 in terms of the offensive power of their randomly assigned partners than the actual schedule used at the event. 1678 literally had the luckiest schedule they could ever have hoped for.
Clever or disingenuous?
After it was confirmed that 1678 had intentionally invited multiple teams knowing that they would decline in order to prevent them from picking each other, the Director of FRC Frank Merrick wrote a blog post on the official FRC website asking for the community's opinions on the "invite to decline" strategy, citing concerns on the ethics of the strategy. The community ultimately tended to agree that changing the alliance selection rules to prevent the "scorched earth" strategy would cause more harm than help by introducing imbalanced alliances or perverse incentives to sandbag in order to rank outside of the top 8. Many in the community didn't feel that the strategy had any negative impact at all and that the whole question of how to mitigate it was moot. Instead, the FRC community agreed that the occurrence of the "scorched earth" strategy should be blamed on the failure of the qualification system to appropriately rank better performing teams above teams that just got lucky, and that if reducing the incidence of "scorched earth" was desirable, it would be more effective to focus efforts in that direction. In future years, changes were made to reduce the impact of schedule luck on rankings. The number of divisions at championships was increased and the number of teams per division was reduced so that teams were more likely to be able to play both with and against most other teams within their division. Starting from 2016, each FRC game has had bonus objectives that reward high performing teams with extra ranking points above the normal 2 points per win. Of course, luck can still play a major factor in the rankings, so the scorched earth strategy is here to stay, but it's now just another way lower performing teams try to use the alliance selection process to their advantage.

2023.03.25 10:25 Noy2222 Pitch a TV show about CIA operatives trying to infiltrate a theater production that they suspect is a front for a terrorist organization. The show is titled "Bad Actors"

Title: Bad Actors
Genre: Action-Comedy
Logline: When the CIA suspects that a theater production is a front for a terrorist organization, two bumbling agents must go undercover as actors to infiltrate the troupe, but they soon find themselves entangled in a world of high-stakes drama, both on and off the stage.
Synopsis: "Bad Actors" follows the misadventures of CIA operatives, Agent Jack Hartman and Agent Susan Miller, who are assigned to investigate the Shining Star Theater Company, a traveling theater troupe that the CIA suspects is a cover for a terrorist organization plotting a major attack on US soil.
Jack and Susan are not your typical CIA agents—Jack is a charismatic but clumsy field agent with a flair for the dramatic, while Susan is a highly analytical desk agent who's more comfortable behind a computer than in the spotlight. Together, they must step out of their comfort zones and join the cast of the theater company's latest production, a Shakespearean tragedy titled "The Doomsday Masquerade."
As they navigate their way through auditions, rehearsals, and performances, Jack and Susan must balance their roles as actors with their mission to uncover the truth about the terrorist plot. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including the eccentric and secretive director, the prima donna leading lady, the diva-like stage manager, and the enigmatic playwright who may or may not be the mastermind behind the plot.
As opening night approaches, Jack and Susan find themselves embroiled in a series of unexpected twists and turns that blur the lines between fiction and reality. They discover that not all is as it seems at the Shining Star Theater Company, and they must race against time to stop the terrorist plot before the final curtain falls.

Title: "A Midspring Night's Scheme" (Episode 1, "Bad Actors")
Synopsis: In the bustling city of Washington, D.C., we are introduced to the Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) headquarters, where Agent Jack Hartman is receiving an urgent briefing on a potential terrorist threat. Jack, a charming but clumsy field agent, listens intently as his superiors inform him of suspicious activity linked to the Shining Star Theater Company, a traveling troupe that's set to perform in the city.
The CIA suspects that the theater company is a front for a shadowy terrorist organization, and they believe the group is plotting a major attack on U.S. soil. However, with no concrete evidence to justify a raid, the CIA must take a more discreet approach—sending agents undercover to infiltrate the theater troupe and gather intelligence.
Enter Agent Susan Miller, an analytical and introverted desk agent who's more accustomed to data analysis than fieldwork. Susan is surprised and apprehensive when she's paired with Jack for this mission. Despite her reluctance, she's determined to prove her capabilities.
To gain access to the theater company, Jack and Susan pose as aspiring actors and audition for roles in the troupe's latest production, "The Doomsday Masquerade," a Shakespearean tragedy. Jack, with his natural flair for the dramatic, lands a supporting role with ease. Susan, on the other hand, struggles with stage fright, but her quick thinking during a botched audition earns her a spot as an understudy.
As they immerse themselves in the world of theater, Jack and Susan meet a colorful cast of characters, including the enigmatic director who's passionate about his craft, the prima donna leading lady who demands perfection, and the suspicious playwright who seems to have ulterior motives.
As rehearsals commence, Jack and Susan must navigate the challenges of their undercover roles, including memorizing lines, handling prop mishaps, and managing backstage drama—all while keeping their true identities a secret. Tensions rise as they attempt to gather intel, and they soon discover that the theater is filled with hidden clues, coded messages, and a sense of unease.
As the episode draws to a close, Jack and Susan witness a cryptic exchange between the director and the playwright. The pair realize they've stumbled upon something much larger and more dangerous than they initially anticipated. With the curtain rising on opening night in just a few weeks, they know the clock is ticking on their mission.
The stage is set, the players are in place, and the agents must prepare for a high-stakes performance where the script is riddled with deception and intrigue. As the episode ends, we're left with a sense of anticipation for the dramatic and comedic twists that await in the episodes to come.

2023.03.25 10:12 TADSRCOP Gf(32f) has hidden story on Facebook and lied to me (29m) about it and I'm broken and devastated, we broke up because of her reaction to it

My girlfriend (ex) We've been dating for 7 months, she has been the sweetest thing, my best friend and my inspiration. Things were going great. It was a perfect relationship with slight problems which will be noted down.
We started dating around 1st September but we had known each other before that. Up until December things were perfect, but it could also be the honeymoon period. In December things at her workplace changed drastically. She was moved to new work place and has been offered a promotion, that's when things changed. She became a little less available and somewhat distant, allegedly it was to focus on work and get that promotion so i said ok, fine. We still keept seeing each other like before, the only difference was reduced texting and sex life was reduced by 70%, she wasn't in the mood and was tired all the time, that was her excuse.
Scroll few weeks, turmoil at work, we are approaching the new year. Things are starting to feel different. She starts introducing new male coworkers and is talking about them all the time. She even texting them at social media using funny nicknames. This along with reduced sex has raised few red flags for me, she became even more distant while at work. Completely ignoring me and barely replying, from girl who would reply instantly no matter what to replies being 30+ min late, all under excuse to focus on promotion.
But irl everything seemed great, except now she became more protective of her phone as if she was hiding something. Another red flag for me but i kept it cool. Scroll few days, her promotion fails because changes in the company, she gets pushed aside as they introduce Suza the person who took her promotion and became her boss. Suza is simply put a manipulative attention seeking whore, but somehow for some reason she became best friend with my girlfriend and suddenly she became equal to me, they sort of had inappropriate relationship, holding hands, massaging each other at work, but after work nothing would happen, they wouldn't text they wouldn't contact each other which i found weird.
Scroll few days. Girlfriend stops saying good night, replies are longer and longer, texting is dry, short replies, no emojis, her now excuse is that she is depressed. But keeps convincing me that everything is alright, sex is once a month thing and she posts status on Facebook saying she doesn't believe in love or forever anymore. I asked her what's that about she said depression and has nothing to do with me.
January and half a February was the same. Sex life has slightly improved but communication remained the same. Other than that when we were together everything was perfect, also she wasn't protective about her phone anymore.
Scroll few days, nid February they get moved to different city nearby, shift changes, bunch of promises, bla bla, she has Suza her now bff and third person is introduced Andrea. Things start to seem a bit off from here. My sweet gf is no longer sweet and is changing rapidly to this new person who i dislike, attention seeking, insecure and is trying to do all sorts of cosmetic changes. Eyebrows, lips. Ears, the girly stuff, when I asked her why is she doing that. She said it's to feel better about herself and fight with depression. Alright sure. Scroll few days, i start to hear bad things about her new bff's, simply put they're attention seeking, cheating and they flirt a lot with everyone, that raised another red flag for me because my girlfriend wasn't like that, why is she hanging out with them? Np it's just a work thing, but suddenly i start hearing from her less about work. When we are together it's perfect, when we're not it's radio silence, a few texts when we're not seeing that day compared to 200 text's before Suza and Andrea.
Fine sure np, it's fine we are good and still going strong. Scroll few days, they start putting make up and keep blasting stories on Facebook and Instagram. My girlfriend who would post 1 story in 3 months is now posting 10+ stories per week, mostly selfies and is protective of her phone again. I confronted her about that, said i don't like that kind of behavior because she is spamming stories of her new bff's but won't post me on any social media. So i asked her to not do that or post me so i don't feel like she has checked out of relationship and is seeking new guy and I'm just someone to keep her company until new guy comes, but problem is she wasn't like that before new bff's. That's where the problem started, she started being secretive so i purposely disabled my Instagram account, to test her, and bam as soon as my account was off she starts blasting stories again, and i was told this by a friend who screenshoted them and sent to me. I turn back my Instagram account, she stops posting stories. Hmmm, ok.
Scroll few days aka 3 days ago, i check her profiles casually, no new posts on Facebook nor Instagram, few hours pass friend sends me screenshot of story, it's a normal pic, nothing provocative, i took the picture of her on our last trip, decent pic but theres a slider with heart eyes emoji and that story is for some reason hidden from me.
I asked her over text is she hiding something from me, did she do something that she shouldn't, she said no but became very upset and paranoid and keept spamming calls and texts. I told her about the story and she didn't deny it, instead she started raging saying she wont tolerate that (tolerate what) so i broke up in anger over text and that was it. She instantly blocked me on everything.
Next day, Thursday, complete radio silence, so i text her first is she available i want to come over and break up in person and discuss that. I go to her place to have civilized talk and respectfully part our ways. So i asked her why she did that. Why she hid the story from me, was it so some other dude is supposed to react and rate it. Why the secrecy?
She denied everything, said it's a bug on Facebook and that Suza and Andrea couldn't see it either, i asked her to open story archive so that we can take a look but she said because of a bug that story is no longer there (she deleted it and lied about it). Then i asked her to open Instagram where she had posted another story( i was blocked) but she claimed she can't go online because of activity status and her bff's will see it and spam her in group chat, alright fine although i knew she had activity status disabled, so that was a lie. We kinda end up taking for 5 hours. We don't really break up, hug each other and I leave, she texts good night as if nothing happened, and i do out of respect. Next morning, a text from her. Angry because I didn't text her good morning, so i say good morning and friends texts me screenshot of insta story and that infuriates me so i tell her that she lied again about something stupid and benign. And she breaks up.
That was it.
Did i overreact or was my action to break up with her first in the right place. It seems silly and surreal, but then again trust was broken and she lied about something benign and won't admit, she also has suspicious history of cheating and is hanging out with whores.
Few notes, her work place is a shitshow with no regulations or any rules really. It's anarchy and they don't really do all that much. She used to post her ex but wouldn't post me on social media. She would contribute much more to relationship for her ex but didn't want to for our relationship or me. Sexually she was much more active and would do all sorts of things with her ex but wouldn't with me under excuse she wanted healthy relationship. Before her new bff's she was shy and not active on social media, suddenly she posts 10+ stories on Facebook with her friends who are by all definitions whores.
Tldr: gf started hanging out with whores and became secretive and distant. She has hidden story on Facebook from me and I broke up with her because of that and the fact that trust was broken and she lied and tried to manipulate me over something benign. Pic was decent and it was from our last trip, i took the pic, story had heart eyes emoji slider and it was purposely hidden from just me .

2023.03.25 10:11 odysseythroughtime7 Stuff I hate about the Internet

  1. Reddit - Ironic, I know. But I don't like the avatars. I don't like the fact that most of it is in text and everyone's way of writing mostly seems the same. Besides, everyone seems very smart and a bit condescending so this makes me feel small. The whole thing of upvotes and downvotes also is something I'm not a fan of. I also feel most users here have a certain political/social/ideological bias (that would be a problem for me even if the bias were of the opposite spectrum - oh and I don't claim to be objective myself, I am just confused).
  2. Twitter - Extremely polarized. Difficult place for nuance given the character limit. Seems even more chaotic since Elon Musk took over. Very addictive. Moreover when I broswe through tweets made by folks of one political persuasion I feel like taking the opposite stance and when I see tweets by folks of the opposite political persuasion, I feel like taking the opposing stance to them. So I always end up feeling like I am in the minority/alone against the group.
  3. Youtube - Not a fan of the thumbnails, titles, and most of the creators who tend to take themselves too seriously. The style that the videos are shot in or made - what with all that copyright free music - I'm just not a fan of - I find it kitsch. Monumental waste of time. The algorithm is such that I'm still getting a lot of content I'm not interested in and the music recommendations also have gone down (earlier I had discovered a lot of new music thanks to the recommended section but now it only shows me a couple of popular videos).
  4. Facebook - Dead. Only boomers use it. But never liked it to begin with. Now that I think back of when I used to use it, it feels like I wasted a lot of time. And for what?
  5. Instagram - Opposite of Reddit. Extremely visual. You keep scrolling endlessly. Everyone's lives appear to be so good that you start feeling bad for your own and start stalking random people (with huge amounts of followers - so called Insta celebs) who you don't even know.
  6. Dating Apps - Extremely addictive. I don't get enough matches to feel satisfied and validated. But I don't get no matches either that would allow me to give up on them for good. I rarely match with the people I really want. Consistent ghosting, empty and vacuous conversations, effort that goes nowhere, people who aren't yet over their exes, gaslighting, endless swiping, feelings of inadequacy, of being more alone than before, of being consistently denied what you want...I don't know where to end with this. In my experience these apps mentally and emotionally ruin you. Maybe even physically. I would have been less cynical without them.
  7. Desensitization - The virtual world is no longer an appendage or a tool to the real world. But the real world seems like an escape from the virtual world. On the internet, people are like 1 dimensional or 2 dimensional characters. In the real world, people have so much personality, depth, color, and what not to them - they are beautiful. But sadly, my social skills have gone for a toss. I don't know how to smile or talk to people normally anymore. Sometimes after getting into random arguments with random people online, I feel on edge as if in the real world also I'm going to pick a fight with some random person. Anyway, the world is such a beautiful place. Simple things like sunlight and plants make me feel alive. On the internet I am dead.
  8. Comments section of any website/app - They are either extremely moronic or stupid or they are very smart but condescending. I get confused how to judge people. Most of the time they are idiotic and I feel my brain cells have died and I have become a more stupd person - where I should be looking up at the stars, I am instead allowing the hustle and bustle of the street to tread my mind with its dirty feet (I'm paraphrasing Thoreau). On the other hand, some comments are written in such a smart yet condescending and holier than thou way (like the chal writing them is perfect and very mature) that I start feeling like an idiot. Then there is the random online arguments you get into. That's the most idiotic and quote frankly embarrassing thing ever. Would you do that in real life? No. Then why do it online?
  9. Porn - I don't have the same problems with porn as other people do. But I just feel sad that I'm missing out on all that.
  10. Internet slang/memes/culture - Memes were fine once upon a time when they were new but now I feel they are a rather a cheap attempt at humor. Same with internet slang and wojacks and that whole internet culture that is spawned from video games...I'm just not a fan of it. It's all too juvenile and kitsch. When we'll look back at it, maybe we'll find it corny. Previous generations have created and done such interesting things in such cool styles (I'm a fan of films/television/fashion/music prior to the 70s) and internet culture just seems like a massive dumbing down.
  11. Too much information - If I want to learn how to fix my posture or learn anything, I am simply inundated with too much information. Enough for me to want to stop learning or figuring out anything.
  12. The fact that everything on the internet is permanent - say you make a mistake or write something in a way you don't like or regret - you can't always erase it (if you can at all what with Internet Archive and all). For eg. if I search my grandfather's name on the internet I won't find anything. But if you were to search your own name, chances are you'd find things (they don't have to be controversial or dramatic) that you may not like but those things will exist for all posterity and unless you do something really special and notable, will define your legacy and for which people would judge you for all time.
  13. Physical sickness - I mostly use my phone to access the internet and now I feel quite sick. It feels like poison. And using the laptop so much is part of a sedentary lifestyle that isn't good for my health.

Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.

Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures.

At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in 13 Exorcisms would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so

13 Exorcisms neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above).

“I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in 13 Exorcisms, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's 13 Exorcisms.)

“And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in 13 Exorcisms, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting. Maybe resetting' wasn't a good term.only

one can claim to be the most powerful superhero .And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it's his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel or otherwise

"By the way, it's not hyperbole because we made the movie."And we made him this powerful.

There's nothing so wrong with “13 Exorcisms” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “13 Exorcisms” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.

It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naïve delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. 13 Exorcisms” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You're Crazy, Jerry."13 Exorcisms " could be retitled 'You're a Superhero, Dwayne'—it's the marketing team's PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length.

In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “13 Exorcisms” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film.

“They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said 13 Exorcisms (2023) FULLMOVIE ONLINE

Is 13 Exorcisms Available On Hulu?Viewers are saying that they want to view the new TV show 13 Exorcisms on Hulu. Unfortunately, this is not possible since Hulu currently does not offer any of the free episodes of this series streaming at this time. the MTV channel, which you get by subscribing to cable or satellite TV services. You will not be able to watch it on Hulu or any other free streaming service.

Is 13 Exorcisms Streaming on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, 13 Exorcisms is not currently available to stream on Disney Plus and it's not expected that the film will release on Disney Plus until late December at the absolute earliest.

While Disney eventually releases its various studios' films on Disney Plus for subscribers to watch via its streaming platform, most major releases don't arrive on Disney Plus until at least 45-60 days after the film's theatrical release.

13 Exorcisms has finally ended the box office blues. It will be a close call, but based on the estimates, the year's biggest opener remains Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with its $187 million start. Nonetheless, Wakanda Forever's $180 million opening is a huge one, being the biggest ever for the month of November (beating the $158 million of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire), the second biggest of the year, and the 13th biggest of all time (though it could go up or down a few slots once the actuals come out). It led an overall weekend box office of $208 million, which is the fourth biggest of the year and the biggest by a long shot of the past four months, with no other weekend since July 8 -10 even going above $133 million.

This isn't the $202 million opening that we saw from Black Panther in February 2018, nor should we expect the amazing legs that were able to get that film to an astonishing $700 million. With that said, expect it to perform strong throughout the holiday season, likely repeating the five-weekend number-one streak that the first film had, and it shouldn't have any trouble becoming the second highest grossing film of the year so far, beating the $411 million cume of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The audience response is strong, with the A CinemaScore falling below the first film's A+ but bouncing back from the B+'s earned by Doctor Strange 2 and Thor: Love and Thunder, which ranked among the worst for the MCU. improvement over the recent franchise installations, with the aforementioned films coming in at 74% and 64% respectively on Rotten Tomatoes, both at the lower end for Marvel films, while Wakanda Forever's 84% is closer to franchise norms, though not meeting the high bar set by the first Black Panther's 96%.

The sequel opened to $150 million internationally, which Disney reports is 4% ahead of the first film when comparing like for likes at current exchange rates. Overall, the global cume comes to $330 million. Can it become the year's third film to make it past $1 billion worldwide despite China and Russia, which made up around $124 million of the first film's $682 million international box office, being out of play? It may be tough, but it's not impossible. Legging out past $500 million is plausible on the domestic front (that would be a multiplier of at least 2.7), and another $500 million abroad would be a drop of around $58 million from the original after excluding the two MIA markets. It'd be another story if audiences didn't love the film, but the positive reception suggests that Wakanda Forever will outperform the legs on this year's earlier MCU titles (Multiverse of Madness and Love and Thunder had multipliers of 2.2 and 2.3 respectively).

As for the rest of the box office, there's little to get excited about, with nothing else grossing above $10 million as Hollywood shied away from releasing anything significant not just this weekend but also over the previous two weekends. When Black Panther opened in 2018, there was no counterprogramming that opened the same weekend, but Peter Rabbit and Fifty Shades Freed were in their second weekends and took second and third with $17.5 million and $17.3 million respectively. That weekend had an overall cume of $287 million compared to $208 million this weekend Take away the $22 million gap between the two Black Panther films and there's still a $57 million gap between the two weekends. The difference may not feel that large when a mega blockbuster is propping up the grosses, but the contrast is harsher when the mid-level films are the entire box office as we saw in recent months.

13 Exorcisms, which is the biggest grosser of the rough post-summer, pre-Wakanda Forever season, came in second with just $8.6 million. Despite the blockbuster competition that arrived in its fourth weekend, the numbers didn't totally collapse, dropping 53 % for a cume of $151 million. Worldwide it is at $352 million, which isn't a great cume as the grosses start to wind down considering its $200 million budget. Still, it's the biggest of any film since Thor: Love and Thunder, though Wakanda Forever will overtake it any day now.

13 Exorcisms came in third place in its fourth weekend, down 29% with $6.1 million, emerging as one of the season's most durable grossers and one of the year's few bright spots when it comes to films for adults. The domestic cume is $56.5 million Fourth place went to Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile, which had a negligible drop of 5% for a $3.2 million sixth weekend and $40.8 million cume., in fact )

, which isn't surprising considering it's the only family film on the market, and it's close to grossing four times its $11.4 million opening. Still, the $72.6 million worldwide cume is soft given the $50 million budget , though a number of international markets have yet to open.

Finishing up the top five is Smile, which had its biggest weekend drop yet, falling 42% for a $2.3 million seventh weekend. Of course, that's no reason to frown for the horror film, which has a domestic cume of $103 million and global cume of $ 210 million from a budget of just $20 million.

But before that watch it on the big screen. I think it's fun, happy, good looking. I think technically quite forward, lovely locations, lovely songs, beautiful people. I think the action is really nice," he had added.

13 Exorcisms is the fourth movie in YRF's ambitious spy universe, following Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), and War (2019), featuring Hrithik Rosh

2023.03.25 10:09 tryingmydmnbest uhh looking for advice re binding?

hey guys so it’s getting to be spring and don’t we all know that the warmer months are the most spectacular for binding! /s … y’all. i’ve been binding for ~ 7yrs and i’m so tired and sore lol. also every day i fear for my ribs. (def can’t help that i’ve been smoking cigs for 4/7 of those years RIP) basically i wanna maybe try taping my chest but every time i have tried w/ KT tape it has been annoying as fck & not quite worked. idk what exactly i’m doing wrong, but the tape always falls off, i’ve got one side looking beautifully flat and the other like a whole nip-less tit, and the entire time i’m constantly worried something is gonna snag and the whole operation is gonna crumble. plus, i work in a restaurant. so like, i’m sweating. which is not exactly /desirable/ while binding, but it’s like terrifying to think about a tit falling out bc the tape is no longer sticking bc i’ve sweat thru it. i have a pretty small chest, one side is def bigger but that’s like hella normal ik, and i def feel like if i didn’t have so much elasticity (basically.. they perky) it wld make taping a lot more effective. any other options? i guess i shld just get a binder that’s a size up but damnnn that just feels like accepting defeat. high key hoping my tits like, shrink when i *finally start T one day hopefully soon. does that ever happen? or do they just become less noticeable on a more masculine frame? preferably i think i’d wanna have top surgery before starting hormones but i’d have to take out a loan to do that and every day i watch as my credit score drops bc i’m suddenly in debt since cutting off my toxic fam and moving to the city. lmao my b for getting sorta off track there… gotta get a better therapist tbh. she forgot the word for transgender today lol. sweet thing she’s trying her best. sorry this is all over the place but uh 1st time posting tho yayyyyy u dudes rock!
tldr; how do i make KT tape actually stick to my body. also does trans tape like, work better is that my problem.
oh also is it wasteful to tape for one day then take it off.. like ur not supposed to sleep in it right??

Greetings!
My wife and I have our honeymoon booked, and we've got 2 and a half weeks in Japan. Our route is Tokyo > Mt Fuji > Kyoto > Osaka > Okinawa. We are travelling mid-May.
We both love food and drink, which is easily what we're most looking forward to. Also, we are Londoners, so we wanted to spend a lot of time in Tokyo hence the 5 days there.
We have kept our itinerary fairly loose. Rather than trying to cram everything in, we would rather plan a few things and just go with the flow and find cool things spontaneously.
Here is what we've got, and please let us know your thoughts.

2023.03.25 10:03 Double-Change-7316 [PC] [mid 2000s-2010s] Dog/Puppy Game

I used to play a dog computer game that I had the disk for on my laptop when I was like 7-10 years old. The title screen had a dog jumping up to catch a frisbee I think. You could choose different puppies and do basic care and enter them into beauty competitions where they'd walk down a red carpet and either get 1st, 2nd or 3rd place.
The graphics weren't great and I remember the puppies would go from like standing, to sitting to lying down. And you were able to add accessories to the puppies to win the contests.
One thing I also remember is the ability to dye the puppies fur different colours like you could have a blue dalmation.
Anyone remember what game this was?

Nearly 5,000 years have passed, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods has gone from man to myth to legend. Now free, his unique form of justice, born out of rage, is challenged by modern-day heroes who form the Justice Society: Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone.
Also known as ?????? ???? Production companies : Warner Bros. Pictures. At San Diego Comic-Con in July, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had other people raising eyebrows when he said that his long-awaited superhero debut in Shazam! Fury of the Gods would be the beginning of “a new era” for the DC Extended Universe naturally followed: What did he mean? And what would that kind of reset mean for the remainder of DCEU's roster, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the rest of the Justice League, Suicide Squad, Shazam and so on.As Shazam! Fury of the Gods neared theaters, though, Johnson clarified that statement in a recent sit-down with Yahoo Entertainment (watch above). “I feel like this is our opportunity now to expand the DC Universe and what we have in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which I think is really cool just as a fan, is we introduce five new superheroes to the world,” Johnson tells us. Aldis Hodge's Hawkman, Noah Centineo's Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell's Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan's Doctor Fate, who together comprise the Justice Society.) “One anti-hero.” (That would be DJ's Shazam! Fury of the Gods.) “And what an opportunity. The Justice Society pre-dated the Justice League. So opportunity, expand out the universe, in my mind… all these characters interact. That's why you see in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, we acknowledge everyone: Batman , Superman , Wonder Woman, Flash, we acknowledge everybody. There's also some Easter eggs in there, too.So that's what I meant by the resetting.Maybe 'resetting' wasn't a good term.only one can claim to be the most powerful superhero .And Johnson, when gently pressed, says it's his indestructible, 5,000-year-old Kahndaqi warrior also known as Teth-Adam, that is the most powerful superhero in any universe, DC, Marvel or otherwise . "By the way, it's not hyperbole because we made the movie."And we made him this powerful. There's nothing so wrong with “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” that it should be avoided, but nothing—besides the appealing presence of Dwayne Johnson—that makes it worth rushing out to see. spectacles that have more or less taken over studio filmmaking, but it accumulates the genre's—and the business's—bad habits into a single two- hour-plus package, and only hints at the format's occasional pleasures. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” feels like a place-filler for a movie that's remaining to be made, but, in its bare and shrugged-off sufficiency, it does one positive thing that, if nothing else, at least accounts for its success: for all the churning action and elaborately jerry-rigged plot, there's little to distract from the movie's pedestal-like display of Johnson, its real-life superhero.
It's no less numbing to find material meant for children retconned for adults—and, in the process, for most of the naive delight to be leached out, and for any serious concerns to be shoehorned in and then waved away with dazzle and noise. Shazam! Fury of the Gods” offers a moral realm that draws no lines, a personal one of simplistic stakes, a political one that suggests any interpretation, an audiovisual one that rehashes long-familiar tropes and repackages overused devices for a commercial experiment that might as well wear its import as its title. When I was in Paris in 1983, Jerry Lewis—yes, they really did love him there—had a new movie in theaters. You're Crazy, Jerry."Shazam! Fury of the Gods " could be retitled 'You're a Superhero, Dwayne'—it's the marketing team's PowerPoint presentation extended to feature length. In addition to being Johnson's DC Universe debut, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is also notable for marking the return of Henry Cavill's Superman. The cameo is likely to set up future showdowns between the two characters, but Hodge was completely unaware of it until he saw the film. “They kept that all the way under wraps, and I didn't know until maybe a day or two before the premiere,” he recently said Shazam! When asked during a private trailer screening why he decided to take over the reins for the third film, Jordan told journalists that he felt it was "the perfect time" after his extensive experience in various roles throughout "over 20 years" in the industry.
"I finally got to this place in my career where I wanted to tell a story and not just be in front of the camera, not just execute somebody else's vision," he explained. "And having a character that I've played twice before, you know, it's been seven, eight years living with this guy. So to be able to tell a story of where I believe Adonis is at, and also at 35 years old, I had a lot to say as a young Black man [about] my life experiences and how I could actually share a piece of myself with the world through these characters and through this story."

Dwarka Somnath Tour Package from Ahmedabad
Dwarka and Somnath are two ancient and holy cities located in the western state of Gujarat, India. Both cities are known for their rich cultural heritage, historical significance, and religious importance. Ahmedabad, the largest city in Gujarat, serves as a perfect starting point for a trip to these two cities, as it is well-connected to both by road and rail.
Dwarka is located on the western tip of the Saurashtra peninsula, on the Arabian Sea coast. It is believed to be one of the seven ancient cities of India, and is considered to be one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. According to legend, Dwarka was the kingdom of Lord Krishna, and the city was built by him after he fled from Mathura to escape the wrath of his uncle, King Kansa.
The main attraction of Dwarka is the Dwarkadhish Temple, which is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is believed to have been built over 2500 years ago, and it is one of the four main shrines of the Hindu religion. The temple is an architectural masterpiece, and it features intricate carvings and beautiful sculptures. The temple is also famous for its aarti ceremony, which takes place twice a day and is attended by thousands of devotees.

Somnath, on the other hand, is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea, around 400 kilometers from Dwarka. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, and it is considered to be one of the most sacred places in India. According to legend, the original Somnath Temple was built by Lord Soma, the Moon God, in gold. The temple was later rebuilt by Ravana, the demon king of Lanka, in silver, and then by Lord Krishna in wood. The current temple, which was built in 1951, is a magnificent structure that features intricate carvings and beautiful sculptures.
Apart from the Somnath Temple, there are several other places of interest in Somnath. The Triveni Sangam, where the three rivers Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati meet, is a popular spot for pilgrims. The Bhalka Tirtha, which is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna was accidentally shot by a hunter, is another important site in the city.
